Destinations AEGINA

Aegina is one of Greece's Saronic Islands, located in the Saronic Gulf, 27 kilometers (17 miles) from Athens.

The name is derived from Aegina, the mother of the hero Aeacus, who was born on the island and later became its ruler. Aegina was a historic competitor of Athens, the major naval power of the day.

POROS

Poros is a tiny Greek island-pair located in the southern Saronic Gulf, approximately 31 nautical miles south of Piraeus and separated from the Peloponnese by a 200-meter-wide sea channel, with the town of Galatas on the mainland across the strait. Pogon was Poros's ancient name. It, like other Saronic ports, is a favourite weekend getaway for Athenian visitors.

SPETSES

Spetses is a wealthy island and municipality in Attica's Islands regional unit. It is occasionally referred to be one of the Saronic Islands. It was known as Pityoussa in ancient times, and afterwards as Petses. The island is presently an autonomous municipality with no internal boundaries. The sole substantial village on the island is Spetses. The islands of Spetsopoula, Falkonera, and Velopoula are also part of the Municipality of Spetses (all uninhabited).

HYDRA

Hydra is one of Greece's Saronic Islands, located in the Aegean Sea between the Saronic and Argolic Gulfs. A short strip of water separates it from the Peloponnese. The island was known as Hydrea (Y, derived from the Greek word for "water") in ancient times, in reference to the island's springs.

AGISTRI

Agistri is a small island in the Saronic Gulf, a short boat trip from Athens. Agistri island is a popular summer weekend getaway due to its proximity to Greece's capital. Many people seeking quiet vacations visit Agistri Greece's little towns and pristine beaches.
