Description

Private Skippered Charter - 14 Days Capo d’Orlando to the Aeolians and Taormina Coast aboard Excess 11

Set off from Capo d’Orlando for a two-week voyage that arcs across the Aeolian Islands and swings to Sicily’s glamorous east coast. From Vulcano’s smoking craters to Alicudi’s timeless quiet, from Salina’s vineyards to Stromboli’s fiery displays, then onward to Giardini Naxos beneath Taormina’s terrace views, this itinerary pairs raw natural drama with refined Italian culture. With a professional skipper and a nimble Excess 11 catamaran, you will enjoy flexible days, smooth passages and anchorages chosen for the moment - sun, swell and your mood.

About Our Service in Capo d’Orlando, the Aeolians and Taormina

We build your charter around how you like to travel. Prefer early sails and long swims? Or late breakfasts and unhurried lunches ashore? Your skipper manages navigation and safety while we tailor extras - transfers, early check-in and provisioning - to keep every day fluid and fun. This is slow, savory Mediterranean living with expert support just when you need it.

Day 1 - Capo d’Orlando Embarkation (from 17:00): Check in at the marina, meet your skipper and enjoy an evening stroll and dinner by the water. Overnight onboard.

Day 2 - Capo d’Orlando to Vulcano (19 NM): Short sail to Vulcano for black sand beaches, crater hikes and geothermal dips. The archipelago spreads out around you like a sailor’s constellation.

Day 3 - Vulcano to Alicudi (29 NM): Head west to untouched Alicudi. With no cars and stone stairways threaded through hillside homes, it is a portal to an older rhythm of life.

Day 4 - Alicudi to Filicudi (13 NM): Glide to Filicudi for sea caves and snorkel-friendly coves. Explore Grotta del Bue Marino or the prehistoric site at Capo Graziano. Overnight in Filicudi.

Day 5 - Filicudi to Salina (15 NM): Settle into Salina’s green embrace - capers, Malvasia and village life in Santa Marina or Rinella. Sunset at Pollara paints the cliffs in cinematic light.

Day 6 - Salina to Stromboli (24 NM): Aim northeast for Stromboli. As dusk falls, an evening tour near the Sciara del Fuoco reveals the volcano’s incandescent breath.

Day 7 - Stromboli to Panarea (13 NM): Sail to chic Panarea for crystalline water, whitewashed lanes and stylish dining. Anchor near Cala Junco or Lisca Bianca for swims and snorkels.

Day 8 - Panarea Day: Explore prehistoric sites, tuck into pretty coves by dinghy and laze through a sun-blessed afternoon. Panarea rewards both the energetic and the leisurely.

Day 9 - Panarea to Lipari (12 NM): Arrive at the archipelago’s lively hub. Visit the castle and archaeological museum, then roam scenic roads above pumice cliffs before a convivial evening in town.

Day 10 - Lipari Day: A land day for beaches like Spiaggia Bianca, ceramic workshops and gelato between photo stops. Return to your floating home for a quiet night at anchor.

Day 11 - Lipari to Giardini Naxos (68 NM): A rewarding passage leads to Sicily’s east coast with Mount Etna on the skyline. Anchor off Giardini Naxos for a calm night with a mountain backdrop.

Day 12 - Taormina Visit: Ride up to Taormina for the Greek Theatre’s grand-stage views, boutique-lined Corso Umberto and long lunches with local wines. Back aboard for a sunset swim.

Day 13 - Giardini Naxos to Milazzo (54 NM): Trace the coast back to Milazzo, gateway to the Aeolians. Stretch your legs at the medieval castle and toast the final leg of your voyage.

Day 14 - Milazzo to Capo d’Orlando (28 NM): Coast along Sicily’s north shore to arrive by 18:00 for check-in and a celebratory dinner ashore.

Day 15 - Capo d’Orlando Disembarkation (09:00): Breakfast on deck and goodbyes - your photos and palate now permanently tuned to island blue.
