Description

See our selection of boats, their features, and rental rates. Please contact us as soon as possible to schedule your appointment.

When you rent a boat in Croatia, you can sail along the Mediterranean's unique rugged coast, crystalline blue sea, and colorful stone villages while enjoying optimal sailing conditions. Whether you choose to rent a boat with a skipper to some of the beautiful recommended locations, book a private tour, or rent a bareboat, it will undoubtedly be the sailing vacation of a lifetime. After all, it's never too late to rediscover your inner captain!

The Astondoa 43 motoryacht keeps you in your place, but in a good way, in the utterly self-possessed style of a child prince from a royal family. Because the 43 is stylish, well-built, and spacious, you'll be comfortable, safe, and envied on board. It's also peaceful and welcoming. When underway, for example, the yacht appears to work with the sea rather than against it, and its Volvo IPS power package does not necessitate a pedigree, bolstering a helmsman's confidence—a confident helmsman equals happy passengers. Even after only a few hours aboard, I found myself wishing I could point the bow toward the horizon and unknown lands.

I first saw this Spanish motoryacht in September 2007 at the Newport International Boat Show. Struggling for breathing room among the yachts of similar size and configuration that surrounded her, the Astondoa 43 flaunted her origins and pedigree via a hydraulically operated passerelle of polished stainless steel and teak—a Victorian lady's perfect bustle—hovering above the massive teak-paved swim platform. Despite the throngs of happy shoppers scurrying through the yacht, I took notice of the molded-in staircase to the flying bridge, wide side decks, and creamy free-form décor in the saloon. Then and there, I decided to get to know this intriguing Spaniard and her builder better.

Although the name Astondoa was unfamiliar to me, it was founded in 1916 by Jesus Astondoa. Like most Old World craftsmen of the time, he based his success on his commitment to high-quality construction and his ability to listen to his customers. Grupo Astondoa, now led by Jesus Astondoa SantaMaria, adheres to the same principles that its founder established, and employs its seven branches to achieve a common goal-the best yachts it knows how to produce. Astondoa now produces a line of composite yachts ranging in length from 40 to 82 feet in open or motoryacht configurations, as well as a series of custom aluminum yachts up to 138 feet in length. Many of the models share many of the company's exterior styling elements, reinforcing the Astondoa look, and even the smallest yacht in the production line benefits from the careful design and craftsmanship that goes into the superyachts.
