While blue whales may be seen almost every day, bryde's whales and fin whales have been spotted on a few occasions during the year. Sperm whale pods are commonly seen at Mirissa between the months of March and April. Killer whales and short-finned pilot whales have also been spotted. Hundreds of spinner dolphins are seen almost every day. Dolphins such as bottlenose, striped, and Risso's can be seen on occasion.
Blue whales can be spotted at Mirissa all year. We provide boat tours every year from September to May. On 99% of our voyages, we have seen blue whales, other whale species, and hundreds of dolphins. Although sightings vary from day to day, most days are excellent. Natural circumstances such as sea currents, wind, and rain have little bearing on sightings. Our experts will go out of their way to show you whales and dolphins.
We typically take 3-5 hours, with a 4 hour average. Our cruises leave the port of Mirissa before 7 a.m. You should arrive between the hours of 6:00 and 6:30 a.m.

Transport from the hotel to the starting site at Mirissa Harbour and return is provided free of charge within the Mirissa region. Sea sick pills are provided.
