Set off on a stunning 2-hour sundowner cruise as the sun sets on Lake Victoria's glistening waters. As your boat makes its way to the equator line or a prospering island, marvel at the gorgeous scenery surrounding the lake and experience the exquisite quiet of your natural surroundings, passing local fishermen throwing their final nets of the day.

Drinks and snacks may be purchased, providing for a relaxing evening on the lake. Our Lake Victoria sunset cruises last 2 hours and provide a relaxing ambiance before beginning your day trip in Uganda. At 19.30 p.m. you will be dropped off at the hotel.

With Lake Victoria being one of the world's largest lakes, we offer late afternoon boat rides out to the equator line or nearby islands to witness the sun set over the horizon. Enjoy the refreshments and drinks offered on board while watching the fisherman cast their nets.Sunset boat excursion timings are generally one to two hours in the late afternoon beginning about 5.00pm but can be adaptable based on demand.

Lake Victoria is the largest tropical lake in the world, as well as the largest fresh water lake in Africa; one of the continent's largest lakes, Lake Victoria is the size of Ireland. Entebbe's Lake Victoria, blessed with such stunning liquid beauty, is home to a plethora of creatures that enjoy frolicking on the beach.

The enormous hippos, who are fiercely territorial, spend most of their days in the water but awaken themselves out of their slumberous lethargy at night and wander onto land to feed. Cast your gaze into the shimmering gleam to find cunning Nile crocodiles, deadly Monitor Lizards, and spotted-necked otters. Hear the majestic African fish eagle's call as it sweeps across the glistening lake in quest of a flash of slippery sliver. Cast your gaze upward into the lush trees, where they may frequently be spotted sitting magnificently on a towering tree with an ideal outlook over the broad stretch of rippling water.

Bask in the gloaming as you take in the dynamic kaleidoscope colors of the horizon and your tranquil surroundings, floating on a glistening body of water that transforms into a rich, star-studded velvet night.

Things to bring

We recommend bringing as much sun protection as possible, such as hats, sunglasses, and creams, as it may become rather hot out on the lake (average day time temperatures are in the mid to late 20 degrees C). Strokes or sandals are recommended because you may receive wet feet, especially while climbing on and off the boat! It is a good idea to use insect repellent. A camera if you want to catch "the big fish" on film, and binoculars if you're interested in birdwatching. Light day attire like T-shirts and shorts are usually suitable, but we recommend bringing a rain jacket in case of poor weather and a sweater or light jacket in the evenings.
