Description

The ideal location to visit Sri Lanka is Mirissa. We are here to show you the stunning coastline and whales in the Mirissa sea. You can carefully plan your family vacation with our great assistance. You've come to the right place if you want to see whales and all of Mirissa's undiscovered wonders that nobody else does. We were the first company to offer whale and dolphin watching tours in Mirissa, beginning more than 14 years ago. Our goal is to support you. Your time with us will be the best yet thanks to the trips and events we have planned. We run whale watching tours all year long so that you can see the whales and other marine life of the Indian Ocean.

Having grown up in close proximity to the sea, our entire crew has a deep love for the ocean in common. They developed a strong love of nature, a strong sense of conservation, and an understanding of the importance of protecting the Earth's priceless wildlife as a result of living by the ocean and as surfers. The members of our crew enjoy their work. The crew will give you the best service possible and be delighted to share their extensive knowledge of the marine life in the Indian Ocean with you. Naturally, one of our top priorities is ensuring everyone's safety at sea. Official certifications in lifesaving, firefighting, and first aid have been obtained by the crew members.

Mirissa – Sri Lanka

Mirissa is a small town in the Matara District of the Southern Province of Sri Lanka. It's about 150 kilometers south of Colombo, at an elevation of 4 meters above sea level. Mirissa is a popular beach vacation destination for both tourists and locals due to its beach and nightlife. But Mirissa is much more than just beautiful beaches; there are a variety of fun things to do in Mirissa, Sri Lanka. Mirissa is one of the most popular beach destinations in southern Sri Lanka for good reason. Beautiful Sri Lankan beaches, excellent surfing waves, and waters teeming with marine life ranging from turtles to large blue whales are all available in the area. Spend your days lounging in your hammock, dining at beachside restaurants, and zipping around on your motorcycle. Four days is the ideal amount of time to enjoy all of Mirissa's top attractions while soaking up the laid-back culture of this sunny beach town. Mirissa proved to be one of the most amazing places we'd seen in Sri Lanka. The activities available here, as well as the natural beauty of the area, make it an excellent place to visit.

Our Boat

We use Trimaran boats that are 16 meters long and 6 meters wide, and they are outfitted with all the necessary safety equipment, such as a compass, GPS, nautical charts, and UHF radio. The boats are furnished with a small kitchen where you can prepare your fresh breakfast, a proper western restroom with a shower, and numerous cozy seating areas. We keep life jackets on board for our whale-watching guests in every size and age category. Wheelchair users are welcome on both boats.

Whales Watching in Mirissa

The largest animals on Earth, whales, can be observed, studied, and photographed by our visitors at Dondra Point in Mirissa, which is well known for some of the best Whale and Dolphin sightings worldwide. Whales move closer to the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, mainly to breed, at Mirissa, Sri Lanka's southernmost point. The continental shelf is also the closest to Mirissa. In search of the magnificent creatures that dwell beneath the surface of the azure waters, set sail on a relaxing cruise to the depths of the Indian Ocean. Mirissa is a great place to go whale and dolphin watching between the months of November and April because the waters turn into a playground for a variety of whale and dolphin species. Sperm whales, killer whales, Bryde whales, and short-finned whales are some of the most frequently encountered whales. You may also see schools of bottlenose dolphins and striped dolphins playing near your boat. The main whale to watch out for is the blue whale, which is the biggest animal on earth. Whale and dolphin watching in Mirissa is a popular activity for nature lovers.

At 15:30, our boat leaves the Mirissa harbor. Check-in begins at 15:00 at our office in the harbor of Mirissa. Depending on where we find the whales and how far we have to travel, trip length varies daily. Thus, the duration of our whale watching excursions ranges from two to eight hours. We can never predict with accuracy how long it will be. The journey takes about four to five hours total. The possibility of seeing whales on one of our tours is very high (90 to 95%), and we will work hard to find them for you every day. But occasionally, despite our best efforts, we are unable to locate the whales. We appreciate your understanding that our trip is an unpredictable wildlife experience in the huge (open) Indian Ocean.
