Kalpitiya, dolphin watching, and whale watching are excellent possibilities since it is one of the greatest places to see enormous pods of dolphins swimming alongside and diving beneath your boat. The Spinner Dolphin is the most sought-after dolphin to observe since it continually breaches. Here in Alankuda, they come in thousands rather than hundreds, especially when the'super pod' forms. They are the most sought-after species because they constantly breach and like bow riding.
You could spend an hour or two watching them play with you and show off their aerobatic talents without feeling like you're invading nature. They are extremely social creatures. Something occurs every now and then that alters your vision of life and the world around you. Watching the playful dolphins may accomplish exactly that, and you will leave with a better appreciation of the waters around us and why we must do all in our power to conserve them and these amazing animals ""like no other."" Bottlenose, Spotted, Striped, Humpback, Risso, and Fraser dolphins are occasionally spotted here.
Six different varieties of whales may be found in the deeper seas off the coasts of Alankuda and Kalpitiya. The largest of Sri Lanka's big five can be spotted surfacing from time to time, and the sight of these mysterious cetaceans is both spectacular and fascinating, offering a genuinely humbling experience.
We'll get together at 6:30 a.m. You will be escorted to the boat after being briefed on the excursion and safety procedures at our center., and the dolphin viewing excursion usually takes place during the early morning hours and lasts around 8 hours.
Our boat is an 23.5m Fibreglass boat with a canopy and a 40 hp outboard motor. The number of passengers onboard will be strictly limited to the seating capacity.It can carry a maximum of 8 persons. Each customer will be given a lifejacket, which must be worn throughout the tour. Clients must follow all safety instructions given by the crew.

We do tours if the weather condition is proper only. FREE Cancellation prior 1 day of arrival. Each person (even child) in the boat will be counted as an adult.

Follow all safety instructions from the crew. Dolphin sightings: There is a 90 to 95% chance of seeing whales on our cruises. On every dolphin viewing expedition, we do our best to locate them for you. However, even with our best efforts, we are unable to show you the dolphins on certain days. It is critical that we understand that we will encounter wildlife in the blue seas. Seasickness: There is usually some swell in the not-so-calm Indian Ocean. If this is your first trip on a boat in the Indian Ocean, or if you are prone to seasickness, we recommend that you take the seasickness drug Avomine, which is readily accessible at any pharmacy. No wild animals should be fed (Yes, they are wild animals). They are not interested in your food if they are swimming near your boat. Make your guide/boatman take the boat too near to them.
