Kayak through the beautiful Dodanduwa lagoon and , marveling at the changing landscapes of tropical beauty. Enjoy the stunning flora and fauna, as well as the diverse birdlife and lush mangrove forests. It's one of Sri Lanka's best lagoons for watching wildlife and paddling.

Observing birds such as Darters, Cormorants, and Bitterns, as well as large monitor lizards, water buffalo, Sri Lankan Giant squirrels, and monkeys, will be an unforgettable experience.

Four nationally endangered birds will also be seen: Indian Reef Heron, Glossy Ibis, Sri Lankan Black Capped Purple Kingfisher, and Endemic Jungle Fowl. Kayaking can be done at any time between 6 a.m. and 6.30 p.m. Waterproof bags, life jackets, and maps of the lagoon are provided with single, double, and triple kayaks.

The water in the lagoon is clear and shallow. A nice swimmable beach is only a short distance away. Kayaking is completely safe, and there are no dangerous species to encounter.
