Weekly Bareboat Yacht Charter from Athens to the Cyclades – Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 45

The Aegean opens up from Alimos Marina like a chart of possibilities. With a fully equipped Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 45 at your command and a Saturday-to-Saturday schedule that maximizes time on the water, this is an independent island-hopping voyage designed for confident travelers who prefer privacy, flexibility, and unhurried discovery. From the golden light at Cape Sounio to the moonlike coves of Milos and the turquoise anchorages of Polyaigos, every mile is yours to shape. Provision easily in the marina, cast off with a thorough technical and safety briefing, and follow a suggested loop that balances relaxed passages with photogenic stops and protected overnight bays.

About Our Service in the Cyclades

Alimos Marina in Athens provides the most strategic springboard to the Cyclades. Supermarkets, marine stores, fuel, and restaurants sit steps from the berth, so check-in at 17:00 on Saturday is smooth and efficient. You’ll receive real-time weather updates, routing suggestions tailored to your crew’s pace, and local navigation tips for shoals, Meltemi patterns, and harbor approaches. While this is a bareboat charter—you are the skipper—our support team remains on standby throughout the week should you want a second opinion on conditions or anchorage choices. Linen, towels, a dinghy and safety gear come aboard as standard; optional add-ons such as an outboard engine, paddleboards, early check-in, airport transfers, or a professional skipper/hostess are available on request.

Day 1 – Saturday: Athens (Alimos) to Cape Sounio
Complete provisioning and your safety walkthrough, then trace the Athenian Riviera to Sounio. Drop the hook beneath the Temple of Poseidon, swim in the late-afternoon glow, and watch sunset turn the marble colonnade copper. A quiet night at anchor sets the tone for the week.

Day 2 – Sunday: Sounio to Kythnos (Kolona) and Serifos (Megalo Livadi)
Make for Kolona’s famous double-sided sandbar where crystalline water invites long swims and snorkels. Hike for panoramic views before continuing to Serifos. Megalo Livadi’s serene bay, framed by remnants of its mining past, offers a relaxed, authentic Cycladic atmosphere for an easy night aboard.

Day 3 – Monday: Serifos to Milos (Adamas)
A scenic reach carries you to Adamas, Milos’ welcoming harbor lined with whitewashed facades and waterfront cafés. Stretch your legs ashore, browse the boutiques, or visit the nearby Ecclesiastical Museum before returning to the cockpit for an evening under a starry Milos sky.

Day 4 – Tuesday: Milos to Polyaigos (Kato Mersini)
Cruise to uninhabited Polyaigos, a sanctuary of electric-blue water and untouched coastline. Paddleboard in glassy coves, swim off the stern, and enjoy a leisurely onboard lunch. With virtually no light pollution, stargazing is extraordinary—many guests choose to sleep on deck.

Day 5 – Wednesday: Polyaigos to Sifnos (Kamares and Vroulidia)
Set a morning course for Kamares, Sifnos’ postcard-perfect port, ideal for a beach dip or an espresso ashore. By late afternoon, slip around to Vroulidia’s sheltered bay for calm waters, low-key taverna dinners, and a peaceful overnight.

Day 6 – Thursday: Sifnos to Kythnos (Merihas)
Return north to Merihas for water top-ups and convenient resupply. The harborside tavernas make it simple to sample local specialties before turning in for a well-earned rest.

Day 7 – Friday: Kythnos to Legrena and Athens (Alimos)
Pause at Legrena near Sounio for lunch on the hook and a final swim in translucent shallows. Aim for a late-afternoon arrival back at Alimos. Sleep aboard and enjoy one last evening meal on deck as the marina lights shimmer.

Day 8 – Saturday: Check-Out
Disembark after the technical check and fuel settlement at 08:00. With memories of hidden coves and sunlit passages, you’ll step ashore already planning a return.

About Our Yacht – Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 45

Built to balance responsive sailing with generous liveability, the Sun Odyssey 45 (length 14.15 m, beam 4.37 m, draft 2.05 m) is an ideal match for Cycladic conditions. The yacht’s 2014 build and comprehensive 2025 refit deliver fresh interiors and updated systems. A 75 HP engine makes close-quarters maneuvering straightforward; 240 L fuel and 450 L water extend autonomy between port calls. The furling mainsail keeps sail handling friendly for mixed-experience crews, while the cockpit’s safe ergonomics suit families and friends alike.

Below deck, four cabins comfortably accommodate up to ten guests, complemented by a bright saloon and efficient galley for social evenings and simple onboard dining. On deck, broad side decks and multiple lounging zones make it easy to spread out at anchor. With a tender for shore trips and optional toys like paddleboards, days naturally flow between sailing, swimming, and relaxed exploration.
