Sailing Destinations Caño Island

Isla Del Cao is a tiny island in Costa Rica's Bahia de Coronado (Bay of Coronado). It is located on Costa Rica's Pacific Ocean coast, east of the Peninsula de Osa. The island has been designated as a protected national park, with a permanent ranger post. Nonetheless, it is a popular tourist site, with people drawn to its beaches, coral beds, and aquatic life. Manta rays, dolphins, sea turtles, whales, and a large variety of fish are among the marine life. The island has a rich historical and archaeological legacy: it was thought to be an old Indian cementery, but the most astounding discovery is the large number of stone spheres discovered all across the island. Some are nearly flawless and come in a variety of sizes.

The vegetation is comparable to that of Corcovado National Park. Pigs and tepezcuintles are the only animals present. There is a route that around the entire island. Camping is permitted near the administrative building, and there are latrines and potable water available.

Gulf of Nicoya

The Nicoya Peninsula is separated from the Costa Rican mainland by the Gulf of Nicoya, which has a marine and coastal scenery of marshes, rocky islands, and cliffs. The Gulf of Nicoya was formed by a volcanic fault line that caused the existing land to collapse into the sea. It is shallow and provides an ideal home for mangroves, which play a vital part in Costa Rica's environment. Many wildlife reside in the lush green mangrove colonies, including raccoons, frigate birds, crabs, kingfishers, various reptiles and snakes, oysters, and even stingrays and tiny sharks. The Nicoya Peninsula is well-known for the presence of Ridley and Leatherback turtles, who arrive to lay their eggs at various times of the year. Visitors can see anteaters, sloths, boa constrictors, ocelots and pumas, herons, caracaras, and agoutis in the ecological reserves of southern Nicoya. There are around 20 separate islands, several of which have magnificent beaches and each has its own distinct wildlife. Nicoya is a wildlife-rich dry and wet tropical forest setting. A haven for nature enthusiasts.

Punta Coral Island

Punta Coral Island is a 30-acre private reserve that is home to various types of animals and is situated in some of the world's last surviving tropical dry forest. Private beaches, snorkeling, kayaking, and guided hiking trips are all available.

Drake Bay

Because the region was once only accessible by water, it has remained mainly untouched low-land tropical rainforest. It is one of the Pacific coast's last surviving such locations. Since around 1990, eco-tourism has been the primary economic driver in the area. Sir Francis Drake is said to have utilized this harbor in the 16th century, and it is the location of one of the British pirate's mythical buried treasures. Drake Bay's major town, Agujitas, has a population of roughly 1,000 people. There are miles and miles of gorgeous coastline with rocky crags and sandy coves that run southward from Agujitas, where the settlement of Drake Bay is located, about 12 miles to the boundary of Corcovado National Park.
