Descriptif

Travel from the British Virgin Islands into the dramatic heart of the Windward Islands on a 12-day fully crewed Amels 180 superyacht charter. Beginning in Tortola, the proposed route connects Virgin Gorda with St Kitts, Antigua, Guadeloupe, Dominica, Martinique, St Lucia, St Vincent, Bequia, the Tobago Cays and Grenada. Volcanic coastlines, rainforest interiors, protected marine areas and trade-wind passages give this voyage a strong sense of progression from the northern Caribbean toward its greener and more rugged southern islands.

Tortola offers an excellent combination of international accessibility, established marinas and professional yacht-support infrastructure. Secure berthing, provisioning services and an experienced embarkation team help guests board without unnecessary complication. Preferences can be recorded before arrival, enabling the crew to prepare accommodation, menus, refreshments and celebration details in anticipation of the group.

Our Windward Islands Superyacht Service

A team of 13 experienced crew members manages the complete charter environment for up to 12 guests. Navigation and vessel operations are combined with personalized dining, housekeeping, activity assistance and discreet hospitality. Whether the group wishes to prioritize nature, snorkeling, cuisine, wellness or family time, the daily program can be refined within the safe and practical limits of the voyage.

This proposed circuit includes substantial distances and cannot be treated as a fixed guarantee of every named stop. The captain will evaluate weather systems, sea state, clearance requirements, berth availability and passage duration. To preserve a comfortable experience, the charter may require overnight navigation, adjusted ports or an alternative disembarkation arrangement rather than a direct same-day return from Grenada to Tortola.

Day 1 - Tortola to Virgin Gorda: Leave Tortola for a relaxed coastal introduction around Virgin Gorda. Weather and local access permitting, visit The Baths and admire the celebrated granite formations framing clear pools and narrow pathways. Swimming and a calm anchorage allow guests to become familiar with the yacht before the longer southern passages begin.

Day 2 - St Eustatius, St Kitts and Nevis Region: Continue toward the volcanic islands farther south. The practical destination will depend on passage progress, with possible anchorage around St Kitts or Nevis. Forts, historic towns, mountain views and uncrowded beaches create several options for exploration once clearance and arrival formalities are complete.

Day 3 - Antigua: Reach Antigua and enter the storied waters of English Harbour or Falmouth Harbour. Nelson’s Dockyard, restored maritime architecture and a lively yachting community give the island a distinctive identity. Guests may tour the historic harbor, dine ashore or enjoy a private evening within the yacht’s elegant outdoor spaces.

Day 4 - Guadeloupe: Stronger trade winds may accompany the voyage toward Guadeloupe’s green volcanic coastline. Anchor near Deshaies, Pointe-à-Pitre or an alternative selected by the captain. Rainforest trails, waterfalls, French-Caribbean cuisine and colorful settlements provide an appealing combination of nature and culture.

Day 5 - Dominica: Cruise onward to one of the Caribbean’s most naturally impressive islands. Dominica is associated with forested mountains, thermal springs, rivers and powerful waterfalls. A guided excursion from Portsmouth or Roseau may reveal the interior, while guests who prefer the sea can enjoy swimming and the beach club against a remarkable landscape.

Day 6 - Martinique: Arrive in Martinique and experience a refined blend of French and Caribbean influences. Fort-de-France, Le Marin and other coastal areas provide marina support, provisioning and access to local dining. Volcanic scenery and sheltered waters also make the island suitable for a slower afternoon of spa treatments, poolside rest and personalized onboard service.

Day 7 - St Lucia and the Pitons: Continue to St Lucia, where the Pitons rise dramatically beside the sea. Soufrière and Rodney Bay offer contrasting possibilities, from striking natural scenery to established waterfront amenities. Snorkeling, sightseeing or a private coastal cruise can be followed by dinner with one of the Caribbean’s most recognizable landscapes in view.

Day 8 - St Vincent: The route proceeds toward St Vincent’s rugged shore. Wallilabou Bay, Kingstown or another protected location may be selected according to conditions. Waterfalls, mountains and smaller communities reveal a less-developed side of Caribbean life, while steady trade winds make the sailing itself part of the experience.

Day 9 - Bequia and the Grenadines: Enter the Grenadines and discover the clear water and intimate scale that make this archipelago so highly regarded. Bequia or Mustique may serve as the principal stop, subject to berth and anchoring arrangements. Tender excursions, snorkeling and a relaxed afternoon ashore capture the easygoing character of these islands.

Day 10 - Tobago Cays Marine Park: Spend a memorable day among protected lagoons, reefs and small uninhabited cays. Conditions permitting, guests may snorkel near turtles, explore by tender or unwind beside brilliant shallow water. The crew can prepare a casual BBQ or elegant alfresco meal to complement one of the voyage’s most photogenic settings.

Day 11 - Passage Planning and Northbound Cruising: Begin the transition toward the agreed final destination, potentially involving a longer offshore leg toward St Lucia or Martinique. Navigation, watchkeeping and weather routing take priority, while guests enjoy the yacht’s extensive leisure and wellness facilities during the passage.

Day 12 - Completion of the Windward Voyage: Conclude the charter at the pre-agreed disembarkation point or continue toward the northern islands according to the contracted routing. A direct return from the southern Windwards to Tortola may require substantial nonstop passage time and must be assessed realistically. The final day celebrates a journey through some of the Caribbean’s most striking volcanic and marine landscapes.

About the 55-Metre Amels 180

Delivered by the respected Dutch shipyard Amels and refitted in 2024, the yacht brings together Tim Heywood’s award-winning exterior styling and interiors by Laura Sessa Romboli. Accommodation is arranged for 12 guests in six luxurious cabins. Two full-beam owner’s suites provide generous principal accommodation, while the remaining cabins maintain the polished finish and comfort expected from a yacht of this pedigree.

A remarkable 175-square-metre sundeck offers a pool, Jacuzzi, outdoor cinema, bar and broad sunbathing zones. These areas allow guests to gather without feeling crowded, while separate lounges and dining settings support privacy when desired. Fold-down balconies and extensive exterior spaces frame uninterrupted views of the islands and sea.

The yacht’s wellness facilities include a Hammam, spa and fully equipped gym. A spacious beach club and swimming platform place guests close to the water, with premium tenders available for comfortable shore transfers. Stabilizers operate both underway and at anchor, an important advantage on a passage-oriented itinerary. Starlink and Wi-Fi help maintain communications where regional coverage is available.

A Deeper Caribbean Experience

The Windward Islands reward guests who value landscapes, marine life and authentic cultural variation as much as luxury onboard. This yacht adds exceptional accommodation, wellness facilities and professional service to a route rich in natural drama. Contact the charter team early to establish the best embarkation and disembarkation plan, confirm seasonal feasibility and personalize every element from cuisine to shore excursions. Careful planning transforms this ambitious southern passage into a distinctive private expedition rather than a standard Caribbean holiday.
