Spend seven nights discovering the changing character of the Costa Brava on a bareboat charter that begins and ends in Port of Roses. This route has been shaped for travelers who want more than a simple sailing holiday - it is a week that combines independent cruising, authentic village stops, protected natural landscapes, and lively marina destinations, all while keeping the daily passages practical and enjoyable. Departing from a secure and well-serviced marina, guests can quickly leave shore behind and enter a sailing environment defined by rocky headlands, quiet coves, historic seaside communities, and clear waters perfect for swimming and snorkeling. With the flexibility that a bareboat charter provides, this itinerary allows you to enjoy the Costa Brava on your own terms while benefiting from a route that naturally balances relaxed sailing, sightseeing, and time to enjoy the yacht itself.

About Our Service in Port of Roses, Cadaqués, Cap de Creus, Port de la Selva and Empuriabrava

This weekly charter has a dynamic but comfortable rhythm, moving between some of the best-known highlights of the northern Costa Brava while preserving enough time each day for real enjoyment. The route includes the artistic charm of Cadaqués, the dramatic scenery of Cap de Creus, the quiet authenticity of Port de la Selva, the convenience and history of Roses, and the distinctive canal-lined atmosphere of Empuriabrava. It is particularly well suited to crews who want variety over the course of the week - some nights tranquil and scenic, others more social and marina-based - without ever losing the relaxed tone of a Mediterranean bareboat holiday.

Day 1 - Saturday: Embarkation at Port of Roses and sail to Cadaqués
Embark in the late afternoon at Port of Roses, where the marina provides a practical and comfortable starting point for provisioning, check-in, and preparation. After a briefing and introduction to the yacht, depart toward Cadaqués for a scenic first leg. Arriving around sunset is especially rewarding, as the town’s white facades glow warmly against the sea and surrounding hills. Once settled for the evening, you can head ashore to enjoy the village’s cafés and restaurants, walk its charming lanes, or simply remain onboard to enjoy the peaceful feeling of your charter finally underway.

Day 2 - Sunday: Cadaqués to Cap de Creus anchorage
Leave Cadaqués in the morning and cruise toward Cap de Creus, one of the most visually striking sailing areas in this part of Spain. The landscape becomes more rugged and dramatic, with cliffs, rock formations, and hidden inlets that make this day feel more remote and adventurous. Anchor in one of the sheltered coves and enjoy swimming, snorkeling, or time on the paddleboard. For guests who like combining sailing with nature, this stop is a highlight of the week. Evening at anchor brings a different mood from village marinas - more quiet, more intimate, and perfect for dinner onboard beneath the stars.

Day 3 - Monday: Cap de Creus to Port de la Selva
Continue onward to Port de la Selva, where the atmosphere shifts again from wild natural coastline to an inviting working village with genuine local character. The area is known for its connection to Sant Pere de Rodes and for its calm, attractive setting. This is an excellent day for crews who enjoy combining shore visits with time on the water. After arriving, you may choose to explore the waterfront, sample local tapas, visit art spaces, or simply rest on board in a peaceful marina environment. The stop adds cultural depth to the charter without sacrificing the easygoing Mediterranean pace.

Day 4 - Tuesday: Port de la Selva to Cadaqués
Return to Cadaqués for a second visit, giving the itinerary a richer and more personal feel than a one-time stop. Today can be shaped according to your interests. Some guests may want to visit Salvador Dalí’s house in nearby Portlligat, others may prefer beach time, local shopping, or another quiet meal overlooking the water. The beauty of a repeated stop is that there is no pressure to see everything at once. Instead, the destination becomes familiar, relaxed, and more rewarding. Spend the evening at anchor or in port while enjoying the mellow atmosphere of the bay.

Day 5 - Wednesday: Cadaqués to Roses
Sail back toward Roses, taking advantage of the route to stop in scenic coves for swimming and a midday break. This is a flexible and enjoyable coastal cruise, ideal for combining navigation with leisure. Once in Roses, you can explore the town in greater depth, including its promenade, historic areas, and Ciutadella surroundings. It is also an excellent moment in the itinerary for additional provisioning, a relaxed meal ashore, or a slower evening before the final stages of the charter.

Day 6 - Thursday: Roses to Empuriabrava Marina
A short sail takes you to Empuriabrava, often called the Venice of Spain because of its extensive marina and canal setting. This stop introduces a different style of destination into the week - more marina-oriented, more modern in feel, and full of activity. Guests can enjoy walking the waterfront, trying local watersports, or even combining the stop with nature-oriented excursions in the nearby Aiguamolls de l’Empordà area. It is an enjoyable contrast to the smaller fishing villages earlier in the route and gives the week a broader sense of the region’s diversity.

Day 7 - Friday: Empuriabrava to Port of Roses
Return to Port of Roses on your final sailing day, with time available for a final swim, a leisurely lunch, or some last hours of sunbathing on deck before entering the marina. Once back at base, use the evening to celebrate the week, either with a dinner ashore or one last relaxed night on board. The route ends as smoothly as it began, with a practical marina return and the satisfaction of having completed a varied and memorable Costa Brava circuit.

Day 8 - Saturday: Disembarkation
Disembark after breakfast at 09:00, concluding a week of sailing that has combined dramatic landscapes, appealing village stops, calm anchorages, and enjoyable marina destinations.

About Our Yacht - Spacious 41 ft bareboat catamaran for weekly group cruising

This catamaran is especially well suited to itineraries like this because it delivers both sailing practicality and liveaboard comfort. With a beam of 6.70 m, the yacht offers the stability and generous deck circulation that make life easier for families and groups over multiple days on board. Accommodation is arranged across 4 double cabins and 2 single cabins, giving excellent sleeping flexibility for mixed groups, with a recommended occupancy of 10 and a maximum of 12 guests. Two bathrooms with showers and sinks support the needs of a full charter week, while the interior living areas are designed to function not only as sleeping quarters but as genuine shared space.

The galley includes the essentials for self-catered cruising, including fridge, oven, and hot water, enabling guests to prepare breakfasts before departure, light lunches at anchor, or full evening meals when they prefer onboard dining. On deck, the yacht’s solarium and aft area create natural zones for socializing, sunbathing, and enjoying the view while under way or at anchor. Navigation and onboard systems include autopilot, GPS plotter, VHF, wind instruments, solar panels, battery charger, inverter, electric anchor windlass, and dinghy, all helping make the yacht suitable for a comfortable and independent bareboat experience along the Costa Brava. Twin Volvo engines also provide useful control and confidence when entering marinas or maneuvering in tighter spaces.

A Better Way to Experience Costa Brava

What makes this charter especially attractive is the way it captures different sides of the region within a single week. You do not simply move from port to port - you experience the Costa Brava as a sequence of moods and landscapes, from artistic villages and natural anchorages to lively marinas and historic waterfront towns. The itinerary feels varied without becoming tiring, and the catamaran gives guests the space and comfort to enjoy each destination properly. For those seeking a sailing holiday that offers freedom, scenery, and a route that feels genuinely rewarding rather than repetitive, this charter offers one of the most appealing combinations available from Port of Roses. It is ideal for guests who want independence without sacrificing comfort, and discovery without sacrificing relaxation.
