Περιγραφή

Travel south from Guatemala to western Panama on a comprehensive 20-day private sailing voyage through six Central American countries. Departing Puerto San José, the yacht follows the Pacific coast through El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua before entering Costa Rica and concluding among the islands of Panama’s Gulf of Chiriquí. The route combines international passages with volcanic shorelines, protected gulf waters, reef areas, tropical beaches and rainforest-fringed anchorages.

Every stage is designed around realistic progress rather than hurried destination collecting. Dedicated exploration days in the Gulf of Fonseca, Gulf of Papagayo, Gulf of Nicoya and Golfo Dulce provide breathing room between the more substantial passages. International clearance, seasonal winds, exposed headlands and anchorage conditions may affect the precise programme, so the captain retains the flexibility required for safe and comfortable operation.

About Our 20-Day Guatemala to Panama Charter

A crew of 27 professionals provides navigation, technical management, housekeeping, accommodation, dining and personalized hospitality. Guest preferences can inform daily service, menu planning, activities and leisure arrangements, while the final navigational programme remains subject to operational feasibility. Assistance is provided throughout the planning and booking process.

Day 1 - Puerto San José, Guatemala: Depart southeast along Guatemala’s Pacific shore, using the introductory passage to settle into life aboard. Volcanic terrain and working fishing communities form the backdrop while the crew completes navigation checks for the route ahead.

Day 2 - Monterrico and Guatemala Pacific Coast: Spend time near Monterrico, with opportunities to appreciate its beaches and coastal wetlands. A shorter day allows useful flexibility before the first international passage.

Day 3 - Acajutla, El Salvador: Cross into El Salvador and complete arrival procedures near Acajutla. Explore the surrounding coastline while the yacht transitions gradually into the country’s Pacific cruising area.

Day 4 - Los Cóbanos, El Salvador: Cruise toward Los Cóbanos and enjoy its beaches and coastal reef environment where conditions permit. Swimming and tender activities may be arranged during this less demanding passage.

Day 5 - La Libertad, El Salvador: Follow the volcanic coastline toward La Libertad. Spend time around its waterfront and neighbouring beaches, with the final anchorage chosen carefully due to potentially exposed Pacific swell.

Day 6 - Gulf of Fonseca, El Salvador and Honduras: Enter the shared waters of the Gulf of Fonseca and move into a more protected marine setting. Navigation and clearance requirements shape the route as the yacht approaches Honduran waters.

Day 7 - Amapala, Honduras: Explore Amapala and the landscapes of Isla del Tigre. Protected-water cruising and tender visits provide a genuine Honduran experience without turning the stop into a brief transit call.

Day 8 - Gulf of Fonseca, Honduras: Dedicate another day to the gulf’s islands and anchorages. The programme may include swimming and local exploration while creating a useful weather and operational buffer.

Day 9 - Corinto, Nicaragua: Continue south to Corinto and complete Nicaraguan arrival formalities. Guests can explore locally after the international sailing stage while the crew prepares for the country’s longer coastal section.

Day 10 - León Coast, Nicaragua: Cruise through waters near the León region, enjoying beaches and distant volcanic scenery. The day remains flexible to accommodate swell and wind conditions.

Day 11 - Masachapa and San Juan del Sur Region: Progress along Nicaragua’s central coast, using an intermediate position if needed before approaching San Juan del Sur. This staged movement avoids imposing an unnecessarily long single passage.

Day 12 - Rivas Coast, Nicaragua: Explore Nicaragua’s southern Pacific region with views toward its volcanic interior. The yacht remains offshore rather than attempting unsuitable navigation into Lake Nicaragua, then positions for the border crossing.

Day 13 - Gulf of Papagayo, Costa Rica: Enter Costa Rican waters and complete clearance before visiting sheltered bays within the Gulf of Papagayo. Seasonal winds are considered carefully when selecting the cruising and anchorage plan.

Day 14 - Playa del Coco and Gulf of Papagayo: Enjoy a full day around Playa del Coco and neighbouring coastal areas. Swimming, snorkeling, beach visits and tender excursions can be incorporated where conditions and access permit.

Day 15 - Nicoya Peninsula, Costa Rica: Follow the peninsula south and pause in an appropriate bay. The staged passage provides opportunities for relaxation while allowing the crew to manage navigation around exposed headlands.

Day 16 - Gulf of Nicoya, Costa Rica: Enter protected gulf waters and cruise among suitable islands and anchorages. This calmer environment offers an operational pause and a relaxed day of marine activities.

Day 17 - Golfo Dulce, Costa Rica: Continue toward the rainforest-lined waters of Golfo Dulce. An appropriate overnight position divides the considerable distance between central Costa Rica and Panama.

Day 18 - Golfo Dulce and Osa Peninsula: Explore secluded waters around the Osa Peninsula. Swimming, relaxation and tender outings may be arranged against a backdrop of dense tropical scenery.

Day 19 - Gulf of Chiriquí, Panama: Complete the final international passage into Panama. Following clearance, begin exploring the islands and sheltered anchorages of the Gulf of Chiriquí.

Day 20 - Gulf of Chiriquí and Voyage Conclusion: Spend the final day cruising locally, swimming and enjoying the yacht’s amenities before disembarkation or onward arrangements. Concluding in western Panama keeps the itinerary practical and avoids an unnecessary return to Guatemala.
