Beskrivning

Undertake a far-reaching 13-day private yacht journey from Tortola through the Greater Antilles and into the western Caribbean aboard a 62-metre Oceanco yacht accommodating up to 10 guests. This route links the British Virgin Islands with Puerto Rico, Vieques, San Juan, the Dominican Republic, Haiti, Jamaica, Cuba, the Bahamas and the Exuma Cays. It has been designed for experienced travellers seeking a combination of extended offshore passages, cultural discovery, remote cruising and the comfort of a fully staffed luxury yacht.

Departure from Tortola provides an organised and professionally supported beginning to the voyage. The island's modern marina facilities, secure berthing and established yacht services simplify embarkation, provisioning and guest arrival. A crew of 15 welcomes everyone onboard, assists with accommodation and introduces the yacht's extensive private and shared facilities before departure toward Puerto Rico and the western island chain.

Crossing the Greater Antilles in Private

This itinerary differs from shorter Caribbean island-hopping routes because it incorporates substantial open-water passages and destinations separated by greater distances. The rewards include a deeper understanding of the Caribbean's geographic and cultural scale, moving from the Spanish influence of Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic to Jamaica, Cuba and the bright shallows of the Bahamas.

Each section will be assessed carefully according to prevailing weather, customs and immigration requirements, international clearances, local security guidance, berth availability and the captain's judgement. The Haiti component is specifically dependent on current safety conditions and may be replaced or rerouted when required. The captain retains final authority over navigation and destination suitability, with guest safety and comfort taking priority throughout the charter.

Day 1 - Tortola to Puerto Rico

Depart Tortola and begin the westbound crossing toward Puerto Rico. The open-water passage introduces guests to the yacht's capable cruising environment while the bridge team handles navigation and route management. Spend the day enjoying the observation lounge, heated pool, gym or shaded exterior decks. Arrival near Fajardo, Vieques or another eastern Puerto Rican anchorage provides a comfortable first evening and a scenic gateway into the Greater Antilles.

Day 2 - Vieques and Culebra

Explore the islands and protected cruising areas east of mainland Puerto Rico. Vieques and Culebra are known for clear bays, undeveloped beaches and appealing snorkelling environments. Shorter movements between anchorages create time for swimming, tender exploration and relaxation onboard. Guests may enjoy lunch outdoors, visit a quiet beach or spend the afternoon on the sunpads before the yacht settles into a sheltered location for the night.

Day 3 - San Juan

Travel west along Puerto Rico's northern coastline toward San Juan. The historic capital introduces colonial architecture, fortified waterfronts, restaurants, cultural attractions and lively evening entertainment. Guests can explore Old San Juan with a private guide, enjoy local cuisine or return onboard for a more secluded dining experience. Established marina and provisioning services make this an important operational stop before the voyage continues toward Hispaniola.

Day 4 - Puerto Rico to the Dominican Republic

Begin the offshore passage toward the Dominican Republic, with potential arrival near Samaná Bay, Puerto Plata or another suitable location. Guests can observe the changing seascape from panoramic interior areas while the crew manages navigation, watchkeeping and guest comfort. On arrival, palm-lined coastlines, mountainous scenery and protected bays offer a rewarding contrast to the previous urban stop in San Juan.

Day 5 - Northern Dominican Republic

Cruise along the Dominican Republic's northern coast, exploring mangroves, lagoons, quieter beaches and small coastal communities according to the day's route. Guests may participate in a guided shore experience, swim in a protected bay or remain aboard to enjoy the yacht's wellness and entertainment facilities. The region offers a balance of natural scenery and cultural interest while allowing the crew to prepare for the next offshore stage.

Day 6 - Haiti Routing, Subject to Safety Assessment

The planned route may continue toward Haiti's northern coastline, but this segment will only proceed when weather, official guidance, security information and the captain's assessment confirm that it is appropriate. Where access is suitable, the yacht may cruise scenic offshore waters or use an approved protected area. When conditions are unsuitable, an alternative passage or additional Dominican Republic destination will be selected without compromising the wider charter experience.

Day 7 - Offshore Passage to Jamaica

Continue across open Caribbean waters toward Jamaica. This longer passage highlights the yacht's ability to function as a comfortable private residence while covering meaningful distances. Guests can exercise in the gym, enjoy a film or music in the lounge, dine according to their preferred schedule or relax beside the pool. Arrival near Montego Bay, Port Antonio or another protected area provides welcome shelter after a rewarding day at sea.

Day 8 - Discovering Jamaica

Explore Jamaica's distinctive coastline, vibrant communities, waterfalls and tropical coves. Depending on the selected anchorage, shore activities may include cultural tours, scenic drives, beach visits or excursions to natural attractions. The crew can assist with local arrangements and tender transfers. Guests returning to the yacht can enjoy dinner beneath the stars, with menus tailored to the group and service delivered in complete privacy.

Day 9 - Northbound Passage Toward Cuba

The yacht turns north toward Cuba for another substantial offshore sailing day. Navigation and weather routing are managed continuously by the experienced bridge team, while stabilisation systems help enhance onboard comfort. The uninterrupted passage offers time for quiet relaxation, family activities, business communication through Starlink or a private musical evening around the Steinway grand piano as the yacht moves toward the northern Greater Antilles.

Day 10 - Cuba

Arrive near Cuba's southern or eastern coastline according to the approved route and applicable entry requirements. Calm bays, historic settlements and extensive stretches of coastline provide opportunities for a culturally distinctive cruising experience. Shore access and activities are arranged only where permitted and operationally practical. Even when enjoyed primarily from the water, Cuba's landscapes and maritime heritage introduce a unique character not found elsewhere on the itinerary.

Day 11 - Eastbound Passage Toward the Bahamas

Begin the return toward the Bahamas, with the precise course determined by weather and the captain's passage plan. This is another blue-water stage suited to guests who appreciate genuine ocean travel. The crew continues to provide full housekeeping, culinary and concierge service, allowing everyone to enjoy the freedom of being at sea without sacrificing comfort, privacy or personalised attention.

Day 12 - Bahamas and Exuma Cays

Arrive among the shallow turquoise waters of the Bahamas, with the Exuma Cays or Nassau region forming the day's focus. Swim over pale sand, snorkel near coral formations or explore small cays by tender. After the longer offshore legs, this stage provides a welcome opportunity for unhurried recreation and complete relaxation. The bright Bahamian landscape is especially impressive from the yacht's expansive decks and elevated observation areas.

Day 13 - Final Passage Toward Tortola

Commence the return to Tortola through the northern Caribbean and Virgin Islands chain. The final route and arrival time will be planned according to the agreed disembarkation programme and prevailing conditions. Guests may enjoy a final meal outdoors, revisit favourite onboard spaces or simply watch the islands emerge on the horizon. On arrival, the crew assists with luggage and transfers, completing an unusually broad private voyage through the Greater Antilles.

Ocean-Going Comfort Aboard the 62-Metre Oceanco

A long-range itinerary requires a yacht with generous living areas, highly capable professional operations and sufficient amenities to keep every passage enjoyable. This 62-metre Oceanco provides exactly that environment. The yacht's premium craftsmanship, elegant exterior design and sophisticated interior arrangement support both formal entertaining and relaxed family cruising across multiple regions.

Five beautifully appointed cabins accommodate a maximum of 10 guests. The centrepiece is a full-deck owner's suite offering exceptional privacy and an expansive personal domain. Guest cabins include refined en-suite facilities and comfortable storage, while the yacht's limited guest capacity helps maintain a calm and exclusive atmosphere even during longer voyages.

Panoramic glazing brings natural light into the interior lounges and creates a continuous visual connection with the surrounding sea. Elegant dining rooms, informal relaxation spaces and entertainment areas give guests flexibility throughout the day. The Steinway grand piano contributes to a distinctive ambience and can provide an elegant focus for evenings spent onboard during remote passage stages.

Outside, the heated pool, deck Jacuzzi, sunpads and open-air dining areas support the Caribbean lifestyle. The observation lounge is particularly valuable on a route featuring island approaches and extensive sea days, while the swimming platform allows easy access to sheltered waters and tender operations. A private gym provides a dedicated space for exercise throughout the 13-day itinerary.

Starlink connectivity and Wi-Fi support communication during most stages of the voyage, although availability can vary by location and network conditions. Advanced stabilisation systems contribute to greater comfort at anchor and underway. The 15-member crew oversees every area of operation, from bridge management and engineering to housekeeping, cuisine and discreet guest assistance.

A Deeper Exploration of the Western Caribbean

This itinerary is intended for guests who want to explore beyond the most familiar yacht charter circuits. It connects major cultural centres, lesser-visited coastlines, natural anchorages and some of the Caribbean's most celebrated waters within one continuous private journey. The experience is particularly suitable for adventurous families, groups of friends and guests who regard time at sea as an important part of the voyage rather than simply a transfer between destinations.

Detailed advance planning is essential due to the distance, international formalities and evolving local conditions involved. Early booking allows the captain and charter team to evaluate seasonal weather, entry procedures, alternative routing and guest priorities before departure. Reserve preferred dates well in advance to secure this distinctive combination of Oceanco craftsmanship, attentive service and ambitious Caribbean exploration.
