CroatiaCroatia is a country rich in natural beauty, and no matter where you go on vacation, you'll always find something that will simply amaze you. Dalmatia – "coast of thousand islands" – owns the longest stretch of Croatia's beautiful coast. The Dalmatian coast has already become a geographical term as well as a symbol of beauty. It has a jagged coastline, islands, islets, reefs, peninsulas and bays, marine channels, and mountain chains that run for miles along it. Cities along the coast, with their rich cultural heritage and beautiful architecture in a variety of styles, are a source of wonder, joy, and inspiration. This never fully utilized gift of God and fruit of diligent human hands is complemented, but not completed, by rich Mediterranean and subtropical vegetation.
Summers are hot, with many sunny days, and winters are mild and rainy. Ideal for sailing! July and August are the warmest months, with air temperatures ranging from 25° C to 35° C (77° F to 95° F) and sea temperatures reaching 28° C (83° F). Rain is uncommon at this time of year, which is considered the height of the tourist season. The Croatian Adriatic is one of the sunniest coastlines in the world, with an average of 2,400 to 2,800 sunny hours per year.
Laws and regulations on sailing in CroatiaA valid nautical and VHF license is required for at least one person on the sailing yacht. Port Authorities in Croatia issue navigational and VHF licenses. If you have a license from another country, please check to see if it is valid in Croatian territorial waters. If you do not wish to hire a skipper, you must send us copies of your licenses in advance in order to confirm your booking. You must also have the originals on board. A certified crew list is required on board, in addition to a navigational and VHF license. We will obtain this document for you once you have provided us with all necessary information and will present it to you at the time of check-in.

Both Trogir and Dubrovnik are historical towns worth visiting because of their stone beauty and abundance of historical stories. The old town of Trogir was founded by ancient Greeks and it is located on a small island between the mainland and the island of Čiovo, only 10 minutes far from the ACI marina Trogir where our boats are located.
The old town of Dubrovnik is not necessary to describe: it is the most popular touristic destination in Croatia, with its medieval walls and fortresses, and a lot of cultural events. When you start or finish your sailing trip in Dubrovnik, it means that you will need to come to ACI marina Dubrovnik, in Komolac, which is only 15 minutes far from the old town of Dubrovnik, and we hope that you will have few hours to visit the beautiful Dubrovnik.
Sailing distance between Trogir and Dubrovnik is cca. 115 nm, and we suggest to organize your trip in the way that every day you need to cross the planned route. If you start your trip from Trogir, our suggested route is following: Trogir – island of Šolta (Šešula bay) – island of Hvar (Sv. Nedjelja) – Pelješac peninsula (Orebić) – island of Mljet (Prožura or Okuklje, with the national park Mljet) – Elafiti islands (Kobaš or Jakljan) – ACI marina Dubrovnik.
Our clients have recognized the advantages of the one-way route and they confirm many one-way bookings. When we need to return boats to their home bases, we don’t charge clients for one-way fees, and these special one way offers are called ONE WAY FREE OF CHARGE offers.
Our Base - ACI Marina DubrovnikOne of the most beautiful marinas on the Adriatic coast is the ACI marina Dubrovnik "Miho Pracat." It is located 6 kilometers from the center of Dubrovnik, on the Ombla River's source, in a deeply intended bay where sea and fresh water mix, and offers a pleasant temperature during the hot summers. A beautiful old mansion Sorkoevi is part of the marina and is half in service of the marina and half converted into an attractive small hotel. The marina in Dubrovnik is open all year and includes a gas station, supermarket, restaurant, coffee bar, nautical gear shop, tennis courts, pool, laundry facilities, and a port authority. On land, it has 425 berths and 140 boat spots. Water and electricity are available at all berths.
Dubrovnik is connected by ferry lines from Gru harbor to all major Croatian ports as well as ports in Italy – Ancona, Pescara, and Bari. The airport (ilipi), located 15 kilometers from the marina, connects Dubrovnik to the rest of the world, and bus lines connect it to all major Croatian and European cities. From early morning to late at night, regular bus services connect the marina and the old town of Dubrovnik every 15 minutes.
DubrovnikDubrovnik, a small city that was once a country, has always been a cultural center. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, its historic monuments with a rich and long history have a special charm. The works of artists, writers, and scientists are woven into the fabric of Dubrovnik, whose reputation and tourist attraction are based on culture. Dubrovnik's many churches and other religious buildings, city walls, fortresses, and museums enchant every visitor to this ancient city. Among the many cultural events, including exhibitions, concerts, and performances, the famous Dubrovnik Summer Festival, with its outdoor musical and theatrical performances, deserves special mention.

Our Sail BoatOne of our largest sailing yachts is the CRUISER 51. But you don't notice it when she's sailing because the boat handles so well. The standard version has three cabins and can accommodate up to ten crew members. However, at the owner's request, this could be increased to five cabins to accommodate all needs.
You will not want to leave once you arrive. Absolute luxury, a great deal of comfort, and even more functionality. Everything is available with the CRUISER 51. When you enter the saloon on the BAVARIA CRUISER 51, only two words come to mind: "wow" and "gigantic!" This is an impressive space, both in terms of size and atmosphere. It has dimmable indirect LED lighting and plenty of natural light, for example. You have the option of personalizing the look with a variety of exclusive wood colors and floors – entirely to your liking. A galley kitchen of this size is typical of an apartment kitchen. This places it first in this boat class. It features a double stainless-steel sink, a 147l cooler with compressor, and a 110l refrigerator with compressor. In a nutshell, it leaves nothing to be desired for a pleasant journey. That is a guarantee. You deserve a very special luxury as the owner of the BAVARIA CRUISER 51 – the suite in the bow. It is spacious and stylishly designed, and it is full of amenities. For instance, a private bathroom with a separate shower on the port side and a large closet on the starboard side. With the innovative flexible bulkhead system, you can create two cabins from this suite.
Advanced sailors will have a good time. The CRUISER 51 has excellent sailing characteristics and a comfortable handling, making it ideal for a day of sailing. Perhaps it's due to German engineering. Or being entirely Made in Germany. Or consider our attention to detail, which includes high quality materials and first-class design. Perhaps it is all of this that makes the CRUISER 51 one of BAVARIA's most popular privately owned yachts. She embodies exceptional, uncomplicated sailing characteristics as well as the ultimate in comfort – both her exterior and interior are pure luxury. If that isn't enough, the owner can incorporate personal preferences into the design. Guaranteed satisfaction.
The Bavaria Cruiser 51, a 51-foot-long work of art, will join our fleet in March 2016. The Bavaria Cruiser 51 combines speed, style, and comfort. Its 5 cabins and 3 bathrooms can accommodate 11 people, making this yacht very popular among sailing enthusiasts. Whether you're with family, friends, or coworkers, this large yacht allows you to have your own space out on the open sea. Salon area with amazing panorama roof, webasto heating and inverter, provides a pleasant stay even in inclement weather. She is a 51-foot yacht, but thanks to the most recent navigation system, two steering wheels, a plotter in the cockpit, and a bow thruster, she is easy to handle and sail safely.

During check-in our team gives you a 7-day sailing forecast. You can always check forecast for sailors on the internet. Usually, you will find this information on the marina bulletin boards which display them in a number of languages. Of course, you can always call the base for weather forecasts, but usually there are regular broadcasts on radio and VHF. • How about safety equipment for children? There are children’ vests in our base, so please let us know the number you require, and the size (weight) of the children. Also, we can provide a safety net if you make a request in advance. • Are there life vests and other safety equipment on board? All sailing yachts chartered through Waypoint Charter exceed Croatian Health and Safety laws with regard to safety equipment. This includes approved safety vests, harnesses, life raft, VHF, lighted buoys, distress signals, fire extinguishers, and more. • Do the sailing yachts have all the equipment needed to prepare meals onboard? Sailing yachts are equipped with crockery and cutlery for the number of people which the yacht would be able to take at maximum capacity. Utensils, which will enable you to cook basic meals are also provided, along with a tin opener and corkscrew. For any specific requirements, please let us know in advance and we will provide. • What is the typical cost of staying in harbors, and in marinas? The marina costs are usually around 50-100 euros per night, it depends on the length of the sailing yacht (i.e. 12 meters sailing yacht for 57 euros per night). Some harbors and most anchorages are free of charge. • Will there be cleaning supplies on board? Cleaning supplies such as washing liquid, surface cleaner etc can be put onboard along with other provisions for a small fee. • Will I need to take any bed linen? Sailing boats are equipped with bed linen. Therefore no need to bring. • Will there be any other equipment onboard such as for snorkeling, fishing, etc? There are launderette facilities in every marina and they are usually around 5-7 euros altogether for washing and drying. • What electrical equipment can I take? It’s not practical to take a great deal of electrical goods as electricity is in sparse supply. However, electricity is 220V, 50Hz. Croatia uses the standard European 2-point plugs. Our sailing yachts have electricity up to 300V (enough for cell-phones, digital cameras, laptops, etc.) while in marinas you have standard 220V shore electricity. • What type of luggage should I take? A soft bag – a soft holdall will help store your luggage when you unpack on the boat. A suitcase style (hard case) will be difficult to store with a number of people on the sailing boat. • What clothing will I need, are there any requirements for sailing? Trainers can reduce the risk of getting the stubbed toe while running round the boat. Avoid taking too much kit as it will take up space and remain unused during the trip. • What sun protection will I need in Croatia? Average temperature in Croatia is 33°C in summer season, and even though all our sailing yachts have bimini, it is really important to use Sun block protection. Also, a sunhat which you can soak is very useful and a good way of staying cool. • Will I need waterproofs? Waterproofs will be useful if you have a rainy day, but that’s rare in summer season in Croatia. It is also good to have waterproof gear to protect from potential wind chills while under sail. • What currency will I need in Croatia? The national currency in Croatia is Kuna (HRK). Euros are accepted in most establishments but not everywhere, so it’s good to have Croatian currency with you. Also there are plenty of ATM’s where you can withdraw Kuna with your Visa/Switch etc. • Is food included, can I get any provisions upon arrival? Food is not included in the price of your bareboat yacht charter. However, we can organize provisions for you; just send us the list in advance. Also, there is a supermarket in marina so you can choose exactly what you need. • Who will pick me up from the airport? You can organize a transfer through us in advance. All you have to do is email us your flight details and number of people arriving, and we’ll do the rest. Car or a van will be waiting for you. • Do we have to pay for the skipper's food during our trip? Yes, your group is responsible for covering the contributions for the skipper’s food whether you are dining out or on board. • Is it possible to charter a bareboat from any other day than Saturday? We usually, like most other charters in Croatia, charter our boats from Saturday to Saturday. It’s possible to charter sailing boats for a shorter term but that’s usually off-season. • If we charter with a skipper, what kind of skipper are we likely to get? The competent, friendly and English, Italian, German speaking kind! Not only will he make sure you get safely from port to port, but he’ll be your guide to the best places to visit, and if you’d like, your personal sailing instructor! • Do you provide boat briefings? If requested, you will be given general briefing covering the local cruising grounds. Questions about navigation, anchorages, prevailing conditions, or any part of the desired itinerary can be answered. A more specific boat briefing aboard the yacht will be given at check-in, covering all the operating systems, including rigging, electrical system, water system, windlass, stove, dinghy, outboard and emergency systems. • What qualifications do I need to charter a bareboat sailing yacht?
