You've undoubtedly heard it before: wine tastes better when it's made. This is particularly true in Greece, where the basic food, which does not need sophisticated maneuvers or extensive preparation, allows the flavors of wine to show through.
Wine in ancient Greece In the depths of prehistoric periods, traces of the vine and wine were lost. In the 9th century of the Iliad, Nestor reminds Agamemnon that their cellars are full of wine that was delivered daily from Thrace to the Achaean ships crossing the sea, as Homer depicts numerous locations with patches that attest to the custom of vinification. The vineyard introduced by the palm merchants to Crete was methodically planted in the 17th century BC, and Archana was the world's earliest wine press. Wine was an important element of the ancient Greeks' life, which is why they worshiped Dionysus, the god of wine, feasting, and theater. This neighbor's son, with his inconsistencies and outbursts, will be depicted in a plethora of containers, clutching in one hand a bunch of grapes and in the other a bottle of wine, while Satir, Silen, and Stables have performed in ecstasy around him.
