If you enjoy the sea, are seeking for the deep feelings of nature, want to get away from your daily routine, and want to widen your horizons, then a sailing vacation is just what you're looking for
During a seven-day sailing vacation through the famed Cyclades, you may fulfill your fantasies of sailing the Greek Islands. Cruise the Aegean Sea from Santorini in search of historical cities, quiet coves, and tourist attractions like as Mykonos and Paxos. Add in some freshly caught seafood, local wines, and a laid-back way of life, and you're ready to float and roll to the rhythms of the sea. Cool down with regular swims in the Aegean's turquoise seas and get the lay of the land from a local guide who knows everyone in the right location. It's all smooth sailing from here.
Day 01Leave Marina Alimou and go to Perdika in Aegina (3 hours 30 minutes). Perdika, which literally means "partridge," has been inhabited since the Mycenaean era, albeit the original village was at a higher height and was named Spitia. Perdika derives its name from the Greek word for "partridge," since numerous of these birds were found in the area's woodlands. Moni is a tiny islet located around 3 nautical miles right opposite Perdika and is densely forested. You can travel to the islet the next morning before heading to Poros.
The modest appeal of Perdika village enchants many tourists. It is a little fishing community nestled in a lovely bay. The historic fish tavernas and trendy cafés and bars on a high terrace over the little harbour are what draw the day tourist. It is said to be the nicest site on the island to enjoy a fish meal while watching the tranquil harbor and Moni island beyond.
Day 02Leave Aegina and travel to Poros (2 hours)
Poros, according to Greek mythology, is the origin of a romantic tragedy. As the Crete King Minos was fighting the besieged city of Megara, Scylla, the besieged city's daughter, fell in love with the Cretan King. To express her feelings, she severed a lock of her father's hair, the source of his immortality, took the keys to the city gates, and handed them to King Minos. But, when the king eventually conquered the city, he rejected Scylla and planned to return to Crete. She leapt into the sea in despair and followed the ships until she died of fatigue. The region where she died was named for her and is still known as Cape Skili today.
Poros Town is the island of Poros' capital and primary port. It is located in the southern section of the island, covering the small, volcanic Sferia with a two-kilometer-long beach and a multitude of restaurants, taverns, and cafés. Poros town is a lovely community with friendly locals and a spectacular sunset vista.
Day 03Leave Poros and go to Spetses (4 hours 30 minutes).
Spetses, an island with a rich maritime heritage, is well-known for its role in the American Revolutionary War of 1821. On April 3, 1821, the revolution flag was flown there, and the island has retained its original character with its great captain houses. Laskarina Bouboulina, who assumed command of her husband's fleet and became an active member of the "Filiki Etaireia," was one of the most famous heroes of the Greek Revolution. Several Spetsioti ship owners and affluent businessmen contributed financially to the movement.
Armata is a September ceremony in Spetses commemorating the combat in the strait between Spetses Island and Kosta during the 1821 revolution. A week before the celebration, local boat builders construct an effigy of a Turkish boat in the ancient harbour.
Day 04You will spend 3 hours and 30 minutes traveling from Spetses to Kyparissi hamlet in Peloponnese. Kyparissi hamlet in Peloponnese is one of the most picturesque towns in Greece, and it was Princess Diana's penultimate stop before her disastrous voyage to Paris. It is a small, peaceful community that is difficult to reach and has few tourists. It was once known as Kyfanta and was an old Asclepius shrine. The villagers of Kyparissi fled the shore at some time in history and relocated to a high location where the settlement was safe from the sea and pirates.
Day 05Leave Kyparissi and go to Agioi Anargyroi in Spetses (4 hours 30 minutes). Agioi Anargyroi is a lovely organized beach in the south-western portion of Spetses. A long, narrow strip of golden sand and clear water, as well as the elegant trees and rocks around, make this one of Greece's most attractive beaches, and it is a popular tourist attraction.
Day 06Leave Agioi Anargyroi and go to Hydra for 2 hours. Hydra is a lovely island that has a long history of success because to its commercial fleet. It was vital in the 1821 War of Independence, supplying ships and supplies to the struggle against the Ottoman Empire. Because automobiles are not permitted on the island, transportation is provided by mules and donkeys, as well as water taxis
.Leave Hydra and travel to the Russian bay at Poros (2 hours 30 minutes).
The Russian Bay is a significant historical monument since it is where the first Russian ships arrived to assist the Greek people during the Greek Revolution against the Ottomans. The lovely bay has golden beaches and blue seas and is wonderfully tranquil because it is shielded from the breezes.
The Russian Naval Shipyard ruins at Poros are a reminder of Greek-Russian military cooperation in the 18th and 19th centuries. The Russian Naval squadron invaded the Aegean Sea in 1770 and built a base in Poros. Warehouses and bakeries were established in 1834 to supply the Russian navy. The Greek state created the first Naval Base in Greece there in 1900. The dockyard was designated a historical monument in 1989 to commemorate the vital role played by Soviet soldiers in the Greek Revolution.
Day 07Leave Poros and travel to Aponisos in Agistri (2 hours) Because it is a magnificent beach with crystal clear water surrounded by nature, Aponissos is a perfect last visit before returning to Athens. It is a peaceful location where you may observe peacocks and even deer! Leave Agistri and return to Marina Alimou (4 hours). check-out time is 9:00 a.m..
