Discover Central America’s Pacific coastline aboard an extraordinary 106-metre fully crewed sailing yacht, beginning from Puerto San José in Guatemala and continuing through El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica. This privately arranged 16-day voyage combines purposeful passages with time to explore volcanic shores, protected gulfs, coastal communities, beaches and reef-fringed waters. From Guatemala’s dramatic Pacific scenery to Costa Rica’s Gulf of Papagayo and Gulf of Nicoya, the route presents five countries through a carefully paced luxury cruising experience.

Puerto San José provides a convenient and strategically positioned departure point, with established maritime services supporting guest arrival, provisioning and professional preparation. Once aboard, expansive accommodation, sophisticated leisure facilities and attentive service from 27 crew members create an exceptional setting for an ambitious regional journey. The schedule remains adaptable to weather, international clearance procedures, anchorage availability and prevailing sea conditions, enabling the captain and crew to operate the yacht responsibly while protecting the comfort of everyone aboard.

About Our 16-Day Pacific Charter from Puerto San José

This luxury Central America yacht charter is arranged as a fully crewed private service. A professional team of 27 crew members oversees navigation, technical operations, accommodation, dining, housekeeping and guest assistance. Preferences can be discussed during the reservation process, allowing dining arrangements, daily activities, relaxation time and shoreside visits to be coordinated around the group wherever operational conditions allow.

Day 1 - Puerto San José, Guatemala: Depart Puerto San José and follow Guatemala’s Pacific coast on a comfortable introductory passage. Guests can become familiar with the yacht, meet the crew and settle into their accommodation while the route progresses near Monterrico. The schedule remains flexible for departure formalities, weather and sea conditions.

Day 2 - Acajutla, El Salvador: Cross into El Salvador and approach Acajutla, the country’s principal Pacific commercial port. Following the relevant arrival procedures, enjoy time around the western Salvadoran coastline or experience a relaxed evening ashore. Acajutla provides a practical first international stop without requiring an extended inland transfer.

Day 3 - La Libertad, El Salvador: Continue east along a shoreline defined by volcanic landscapes, beaches and fishing communities. Arrive around La Libertad and explore its waterfront or nearby coastal areas. This measured passage introduces another side of El Salvador while preserving time for relaxation and local discovery.

Day 4 - Gulf of Fonseca, Honduras: Proceed toward the Gulf of Fonseca, whose waters are shared by El Salvador, Honduras and Nicaragua. Careful navigation and international procedures shape the day as the yacht enters a more protected environment and positions near a suitable Honduran anchorage.

Day 5 - Amapala, Honduras: Explore Isla del Tigre and the volcanic island scenery surrounding Amapala. Sheltered-water cruising, swimming and tender excursions may be incorporated according to conditions. This dedicated Honduran day also provides useful flexibility for clearance, weather and preparation for the next international passage.

Day 6 - Corinto, Nicaragua: Leave the Gulf of Fonseca and follow Nicaragua’s Pacific shore toward Corinto. The passage is planned at a manageable pace, allowing time for arrival procedures and safe positioning. Guests can explore locally or unwind aboard after completing the international crossing.

Day 7 - Corinto Coast, Nicaragua: Spend a full day around Corinto and the adjoining Pacific coastline. Visit suitable anchorages, enjoy coastal scenery or take a tender excursion where permitted. The day creates valuable operational margin for provisioning, port requirements and changing marine conditions.

Day 8 - San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua: Cruise southwest toward San Juan del Sur on a substantial yet achievable coastal passage. Arrive in its broad bay, complete any necessary procedures and enjoy an evening overlooking one of Nicaragua’s best-known seaside destinations.

Day 9 - San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua: Enjoy a slower day centred on the bay and nearby beaches. Swimming, tender exploration and relaxation aboard can be arranged according to conditions. The additional time balances the preceding passages and prepares the yacht for entry into Costa Rican waters.

Day 10 - Gulf of Papagayo, Costa Rica: Cross the maritime border and continue to northwestern Costa Rica. Following clearance, settle near a suitable anchorage in the Gulf of Papagayo. This region introduces striking Guanacaste landscapes and secluded coastal settings while keeping the voyage on a practical southbound line.

Day 11 - Gulf of Papagayo, Costa Rica: Explore beaches and sheltered bays across the gulf, selecting locations according to seasonal winds and swell. Guests may swim, relax on deck or travel ashore by tender when safe. A second day permits a more meaningful experience of Costa Rica’s northern cruising grounds.

Day 12 - Nicoya Peninsula, Costa Rica: Progress south along the Nicoya Peninsula, using an appropriate coastal stop to divide the passage. Enjoy a quieter bay and Costa Rica’s tropical scenery while the crew evaluates conditions around exposed headlands and the approach to the Gulf of Nicoya.

Day 13 - Puntarenas, Costa Rica: Enter the protected waters of the Gulf of Nicoya and continue toward Puntarenas. Nearby islands and coastal communities may be explored before an overnight position is selected. The transition from open Pacific navigation to calmer gulf waters provides a welcome change of rhythm.

Day 14 - Gulf of Nicoya, Costa Rica: Dedicate the day to island cruising, swimming and relaxed coastal activities within the gulf. The precise programme can be tailored around anchorage conditions and applicable local regulations, giving guests time to appreciate Costa Rica rather than treating it merely as a transit destination.

Day 15 - Costa Rica Pacific Coast: Begin the northbound phase from the Gulf of Nicoya, using an appropriate coastal position where necessary. As this is a considerable repositioning stage, the captain will adjust timing and navigation around weather, sea state and operational requirements.

Day 16 - Guatemala Pacific Coast and Puerto San José: Continue north toward Guatemala and complete the voyage in the Puerto San José region. The final schedule may incorporate a suitable port or anchorage to manage clearance and weather requirements before disembarkation. Guests enjoy their last hours aboard as the crew concludes a memorable five-country Pacific journey.
