Our training program is fully approved by the Royal Yachting Association (RYA), which means you can be confident that you're receiving the highest quality instruction and guidance. Whether you're a seasoned sailor looking to advance your skills, or a complete beginner with a passion for the sea, this course is the perfect way to take your sailing abilities to the next level. At the end of the course, you'll have the opportunity to take the RYA-Yachtmaster practical exam, which will test your skills and knowledge in a variety of challenging conditions. Once you've passed the exam, you'll be certified as an RYA-Yachtmaster Skipper, which is recognized worldwide as a mark of excellence in the yachting industry.
Our professional skipper with RYA Yachtmaster Offshore is highly-qualified, commercially endors for sailing vessels up to 24 metres and have thousands of sailing miles logged. As a qualified cruising instructor, we offer with our own-boat tuition, advice on navigation, tides and passage planning. Our trainer have an extensive local knowledge endorsement from Jersey Coastguard and has spent many years sailing local waters. We can build your knowledge of local regulations and sailing around Jersey. We can focus on any skills you require including boat handling in and around the harbour and marinas.
About the Watercraft
The watercraft used for your practical training sessions is the elegant Sailing Yacht, Beneteau First 36.7. The yacht is a sleek and sophisticated sailing boat with a length of 11 meters, it's ideal for small groups of up to 5 people to take courses together for a franction or share of the cost. The inside of the boat is pleasant and well-appointed, with a nice salon and three individual staterooms. The main bedroom has a double bed and an en-suite bathroom, and the other two cabins have twin beds. The First 36.7 has lots of deck area for leisure and entertainment. The cockpit space is large and pleasant, with enough of seats and a table for outside dining. The yacht's sophisticated navigation systems and strong sails provide a smooth and thrilling voyage, while its dependable engine delivers adequate speed and agility.

The training session runs for a span of 2 weeks. If you are looking for a weekly session, it is important that you have some crewing and helming experience. The one week course is not for beginners and the recommended entry level requirements are a VHF maritime radio operators certificate, and to have logged over 200 nautical miles and 10 days at sea before advancing to this level. The candidate should be 16 years of age or over and preferably hold the IYT International Crew Certificate or equivalent. Candidates who do not have 200 nautical miles may take this 2 week course instead and gain miles required to obtain certification during the course.
The deposit payment made to enroll for this course is non-refundable once enrolled, though can be used for the latter sessions or transferred for similar course.
No-show will result in reservation considered as forfeited.
