Description

.Get ready to experience and have fun with a fishing trip.

A fishing charter is unlike any other experience. A fishing trip is the ideal combination of relaxation and excitement because it is not too far from land but deep enough to encounter many diverse species of fish that rarely visit the shore. especially if it's a guided fishing trip.

Anyone with some free time and an interest may enjoy this day out on Lake Victoria, which offers the opportunity to hook one of the world's largest freshwaterr fish, the Nile Perch. We have experienced and competent skippers with a solid grasp of the English language.

Trips typically depart at 9.00 a.m. or 1.00 p.m. and return at 11.30 p.m. or 3.30 p.m., with a full day on the water lasting roughly 8 hours and a half day lasting approximately 4 hours. Fishing takes place around local inlets and islands, which are around a 30-45-minute boat ride from Entebbe. The places fished will be determined by the weather and how well the fish are biting. When the lake is choppy with high surf at particular times of the year, we choose to fish in the protected bays.

.Our boat is a wooden customized boat that can accommodate up to ten persons. It's a traditional-styled open fishing boat with a wide beam, outboard well, stability at rest, and the capacity to be modified to accommodate most setups. All frames have notched side battens, hull battens, sheer and chine rails. The outboard well area, as well as the transom and rear deck sections, are marked.

The stem is labeled to aid in the identification of the chine, sheer, and king plank. The bottom hull is constructed with higher longitudinal battens to allow water to flow beneath the frames and towards the back of the vessel.

Despite the fact that Uganda has several bodies of water, the government does not promote sport fishing. In reality, water covers nearly 25% of Uganda. Uganda boasts the biggest lake on the African continent in Lake Victoria. Uganda is the source of the world's longest river, the Nile. Lakes such as George, Edward, Albert, and Kyoga also exist in Uganda. All of these bodies of water offer excellent chances for sport fishing. Some of the world's most famous fishermen have gone fishing in Uganda. The National Geographic Channel's Jeremy Wade, John Wilson, and Zeb Hogan are among them.

Sport fishing has grown in popularity in Uganda since the early 1990s and is now one of the top things to do in Uganda. The locals and Uganda's middle class have yet to properly embrace this amazing activity. Sport fishing is ideal for family bonding or socializing with a group of friends. It is not necessary to have prior fishing expertise to participate in this activity. In most circumstances, all that is required is to join the company of experienced fisherman who will teach them the ropes.

As we will discover later, Uganda has some of the greatest fishing sites. Casting lures or using live baits to capture Nile Perch, Tilapia, and Tiger fish is the major way of capturing fish in these two famous bodies of water. Fishing in Uganda is fantastic since it allows you to see Africa's famed animals as well as the breathtaking environment. The chance of seeing deadly species such as crocodiles adds to the excitement and adventure of the journey. However, safety comes first, and most anglers are led by armed rangers from the park headquarters in case they come across hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes, or elephants. Anglers avoid crocodile-infested regions of lakes and rivers.

Although fishing is one of the greatest things to do in Entebbe, the adjacent Ssese Islands are a better option. There are around 84 Ssese Islands, all of which provide excellent fishing chances. Many are pristine and rarely visited Best spots for fishing in Uganda.

Also, when in Uganda, the Murchison Falls National Park is a terrific area to go fishing. Two lodges, Paara and Chobe, organize sport fishing in the Murchison Falls National Park. The greatest fishing spots are around the falls' base. Instead of going immediately close to the falls, one can stand on the rocks in a peaceful area of the river (downstream) and cast their line into the deep waters. There are also some quiet ponds downstream that are apart from the main river to consider. Large Nile Perch, Tilapia, and gigantic cat fish live in the pools.

Fishing on Lake Victoria can begin in Kampala at Munyonyo or in Entebbe at the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre (Zoo). Trolling with lures is, as previously said, the most popular fishing approach in Lake Victoria. Fly fishing may be used to catch tilapia.

Booking rules

Activity fishing trips are frequently planned over many days and need a strong interest in the sport as well as some level of fitness and patience. Fishing on Lake Victoria is possible all year, although the months of October to March are ideal for sport fishing.

Please note that we do not provide fishing equipment.

Things to bring

We recommend bringing as much sun protection as possible, such as hats, sunglasses, and creams, as it may become rather hot out on the lake (average day time temperatures are in the mid to late 20 degrees C). Strokes or sandals are recommended because you may receive wet feet, especially while climbing on and off the boat! It is a good idea to use insect repellent. A camera if you want to catch "the big fish" on film, and binoculars if you're interested in birdwatching. Light day attire like T-shirts and shorts are usually suitable, but we recommend bringing a rain jacket in case of poor weather and a sweater or light jacket in the evenings.

Food and beverages

Food and beverages can be purchased on board for an extra fee.

Cancellation policy

Once one books you can cancel your trip with a period of 24 hours and you can be refunded half of the deposit.
