Discover the Leeward Islands through a carefully paced 12-day private superyacht charter departing from Tortola in the British Virgin Islands. This island-rich circuit combines the celebrated bays of the BVI and USVI with St Martin, Anguilla, St Kitts and Nevis, Antigua, Guadeloupe, Dominica and St Barts. Frequent coastal discoveries, contrasting island cultures and memorable anchorages make the experience especially appealing to guests who want variety without losing the comfort, privacy and personal attention of a fully crewed luxury yacht.

Tortola provides an accomplished starting point for Caribbean cruising, supported by modern marina facilities, secure berthing and professional provisioning services. Convenient regional connections and an established yachting infrastructure help streamline guest arrivals and departure preparations. The charter team coordinates preferences before embarkation, allowing cabins, menus, refreshments and special arrangements to be prepared around the group’s requirements.

Personalized Leeward Islands Charter Service

Thirteen professional crew members deliver navigation, hospitality, culinary service and guest assistance throughout the voyage. Their knowledge and attentive approach create a relaxed atmosphere in which every traveler can decide how active or unhurried each day should feel. Dining may be customized, celebrations arranged and activity plans adjusted to suit families, couples or private groups of up to 12 guests.

The Leeward Islands generally lend themselves to rewarding island-to-island cruising, but several legs still involve open-water passages. The route remains flexible and is subject to customs procedures, immigration formalities, weather, sea state, marina availability and the captain’s authority. Stops may be substituted, reordered or shortened where operational circumstances require.

Day 1 - Tortola to Jost Van Dyke: Following embarkation and a safety orientation, cruise toward Jost Van Dyke and the surrounding BVI anchorages. Short distances allow guests to acclimatize gently, swim in clear water and enjoy their first lunch or sunset refreshments onboard. The evening introduces the easy rhythm of Caribbean life within a calm and scenic anchorage.

Day 2 - St John, US Virgin Islands: Cross toward St John, subject to clearance arrangements, and explore one of the region’s most naturally attractive islands. Cruz Bay and Coral Bay provide different atmospheres, while sheltered beaches and hiking trails invite time ashore. Guests may alternate between snorkeling, walking and relaxing on the sundeck before dinner.

Day 3 - Passage to St Martin or Sint Maarten: A longer eastward passage leads toward an island shared by French and Dutch administrations. Simpson Bay and Marigot offer marina services, waterfront restaurants and cosmopolitan energy. After arrival, guests can explore ashore or recover from the crossing with spa treatments, poolside relaxation and an intimate evening onboard.

Day 4 - Anguilla’s Turquoise Bays: Cruise the short distance to Anguilla, celebrated for pale beaches, vivid water and a more understated island character. Road Bay, Shoal Bay or another captain-approved location may serve as the day’s anchorage. Swimming, snorkeling and tender trips can be followed by a leisurely beach visit or private alfresco lunch.

Day 5 - St Kitts and Nevis: Proceed south toward the volcanic silhouettes of St Kitts and Nevis. Historic Basseterre, elegant Charlestown, green mountain landscapes and quieter beaches offer a mixture of culture and natural beauty. A shore excursion may be arranged before guests return for refreshments and an evening overlooking the island lights.

Day 6 - Antigua and Barbuda: Enter one of the Caribbean’s most respected sailing destinations. English Harbour and Falmouth Harbour combine superb maritime scenery with established yachting services. Guests can visit Nelson’s Dockyard, browse waterfront establishments or remain aboard to enjoy the pool, beach club and panoramic spaces in complete privacy.

Day 7 - Guadeloupe: French-Caribbean culture and volcanic scenery define the passage to Guadeloupe. Possible anchorages near Deshaies or other suitable coastal areas provide access to villages, rainforest paths and waterfalls. The day can balance exploration ashore with swimming and an elegant dinner reflecting local ingredients and guest preferences.

Day 8 - Natural Dominica: Continue to Dominica, where mountains, dense rainforest, thermal landscapes and waterfalls create one of the route’s strongest nature experiences. Portsmouth or Roseau may support access to guided excursions, subject to local arrangements. Returning to a peaceful anchorage after exploring inland reveals the island from an entirely different perspective.

Day 9 - Northbound Passage: Begin the longer return toward St Martin. This navigation-focused day provides time to appreciate the superyacht itself: watch a film outdoors, exercise in the gym, enjoy the Hammam or settle into a shaded lounge as the crew manages the offshore passage and changing conditions.

Day 10 - St Martin Leisure Day: Arrive around Simpson Bay, Marigot or another approved harbor and enjoy the island’s beaches, boutiques and waterfront dining. Marina access may facilitate replenishment and guest transfers, while those preferring privacy can remain aboard for personalized service, swimming and a relaxed afternoon around the sundeck pool.

Day 11 - St Barts and Anguilla: Weather and timing permitting, make an optional call at sophisticated St Barts before continuing toward Anguilla or a neighboring anchorage. Boutique shopping, celebrated dining and polished beach venues contrast with the peaceful coves available elsewhere. The itinerary can be adapted to emphasize either social energy or secluded relaxation.

Day 12 - Return to Tortola: Complete the Leeward Islands circuit with a westward passage toward the British Virgin Islands. Views of Virgin Gorda and neighboring cays provide a familiar welcome as the yacht approaches Tortola. Following a final lunch or swim where scheduling permits, guests return to the embarkation region for an organized disembarkation.

The Amels 180 Superyacht Experience

Built by Amels and comprehensively refitted in 2024, this 55-metre luxury yacht displays the recognizable exterior design language of Tim Heywood and sophisticated interiors by Laura Sessa Romboli. Six cabins accommodate as many as 12 guests, with two full-beam owner’s suites delivering exceptional space and privacy. Beautifully appointed lounges and dining areas create an elegant yet welcoming residential environment throughout the voyage.

The expansive 175-square-metre sundeck incorporates a pool, Jacuzzi, outdoor cinema, exterior bar and generous sunbathing areas. It is equally suitable for quiet mornings, family afternoons and celebratory evenings. Fold-down balconies and multiple alfresco settings allow guests to engage with the Caribbean surroundings without sacrificing personal space.

Wellness amenities include a spa, Hammam and fully equipped gym. At water level, the beach club and swimming platform create a private base for swimming and tender departures. Premium tenders support comfortable transfers, while the BBQ area introduces a casual outdoor dining option. Starlink and Wi-Fi provide connectivity subject to service coverage, and stabilizers underway and at anchor improve comfort across passages and overnight stays.

Explore the Leewards in Exceptional Comfort

This itinerary stands out for its cultural range, inviting beaches and satisfying balance between offshore cruising and time ashore. Rather than rushing through a single destination, guests experience the distinctive French, Dutch, British and independent island influences that make the Leewards so compelling. Reserve preferred dates early so the charter team can develop a practical route, arrange personalized menus and coordinate shore experiences. The result is a refined Caribbean circuit shaped around your group and delivered with the discretion of an experienced 13-member crew.
