Beskrivelse

For guests who want a slower, more immersive sailing holiday along the Costa Brava, this weekly bareboat charter from Port of Roses offers a wonderfully balanced route built around scenic anchorages, beautiful natural surroundings, and the charm of northeastern Spain’s most characterful coastal villages. Rather than pushing through long daily passages, the itinerary is structured to allow more time in each destination, more moments at anchor, and more opportunities to enjoy the yacht itself. Beginning with a short first-night sail into Roses Bay, the route then unfolds through Cadaqués, Port de la Selva, and Cap de Creus before returning via Roses. It is an excellent option for travelers who value a calm rhythm, coastal scenery, swimming stops, and the freedom to let each day breathe without sacrificing the richness of the overall experience.

About Our Service in Port of Roses, Roses Bay, Cadaqués, Port de la Selva and Cap de Creus

This route is especially attractive for crews who want to experience the Costa Brava in a relaxed and highly visual way. Because the sailing legs are generally short to moderate, more of the week can be devoted to enjoying protected bays, quiet evenings, village visits, and time in the water. At the same time, the itinerary still includes many of the defining highlights of the area, from the whitewashed beauty of Cadaqués to the striking natural reserve scenery of Cap de Creus. It is a charter that feels leisurely without ever feeling empty, and it works particularly well for families, friendship groups, and holiday sailors who want comfort, flexibility, and memorable stops rather than a mileage-driven route.

Day 1 - Saturday: Embarkation at Port of Roses and short sail to Roses Bay
After boarding at Port of Roses at 17:00, there is no need to rush into a long first passage. Instead, this itinerary begins with a short and scenic sail into Roses Bay, giving guests time to settle in gradually, unpack, and begin enjoying the catamaran from the very first evening. The bay’s calmer waters create an easy transition into holiday mode, and the setting is ideal for a first swim, sunset photography, or a relaxed dinner on board. Starting the week this way helps establish the slower, more enjoyable tone that defines the itinerary.

Day 2 - Sunday: Roses to Cadaqués
Depart for Cadaqués after a gentle first morning and enjoy the coastal scenery as you cruise toward one of the most iconic destinations on the Costa Brava. The village’s white buildings, charming waterfront, and artistic heritage make arrival here consistently rewarding, especially by sea. Once there, guests can wander through cobbled streets, discover local shops, relax in a café, or visit nearby Portlligat if they wish to connect more deeply with the area’s cultural identity. The evening can be spent ashore or onboard, with the bay providing a lovely setting for a relaxed overnight stay.

Day 3 - Monday: Cadaqués to Port de la Selva
Today’s passage leads to Port de la Selva, a small coastal village that feels more traditional and peaceful than some of the better-known destinations in the region. The route itself remains enjoyable and unhurried, leaving enough time on arrival for swimming, paddleboarding, or simply enjoying the coastal landscape from the deck. Guests interested in cultural exploration can use the stop as a base for discovering the wider area, while others may simply appreciate the slower pace and authentic harbor atmosphere. It is an ideal overnight stop for travelers who want to feel more connected to the local character of the coastline.

Day 4 - Tuesday: Port de la Selva to Cap de Creus
One of the most scenic days of the week takes you into the Cap de Creus area, where rocky formations, rugged cliffs, and hidden coves create a very different feeling from the gentler bay and village environments earlier in the itinerary. This stop is all about natural beauty. Time here can be used for snorkeling in clear water, taking the dinghy into quieter corners, enjoying a short coastal walk where possible, or simply relaxing on the foredeck while surrounded by dramatic scenery. An overnight anchorage in a quiet bay makes the experience even more memorable, especially as evening falls and the landscape becomes calm and atmospheric.

Day 5 - Wednesday: Cap de Creus to Cadaqués
Return to Cadaqués for a second stop, which works beautifully in a relaxed itinerary because it removes the pressure to do everything in one visit. Some guests may choose to spend this second stay exploring hidden coves and local art galleries, while others may prefer beach time, scenic cycling, or a slow lunch by the waterfront. Repeating Cadaqués in the route strengthens the holiday feel by allowing familiarity to develop, turning the village from a sightseeing stop into a place you genuinely get to know over the week.

Day 6 - Thursday: Cadaqués to Roses
Set sail back toward Roses, taking advantage of the coastline to pause in attractive coves for a swim or lunch break if conditions allow. Once in Roses, guests can explore the town, enjoy its waterfront, discover the historic remains around the Ciutadella area, or simply use the stop to relax and enjoy one final substantial evening ashore. Roses brings good facilities, a lively yet accessible atmosphere, and a practical setting for the final phase of the charter.

Day 7 - Friday: Roses to Port of Roses
The final sailing day is intentionally gentle, with a short return to Port of Roses that leaves ample time for one last swim, paddleboard session, or slow morning enjoying the Costa Brava sunshine from the yacht. Once back at the marina, the final evening can be shaped however you prefer - a celebratory restaurant meal, drinks on board, or simply a last relaxed night in comfort after a week that has prioritized enjoyment over haste.

Day 8 - Saturday: Disembarkation
After breakfast, disembark at 09:00, taking with you the memory of a route that was not only beautiful but also thoughtfully paced for real relaxation.

About Our Yacht - Comfortable catamaran for relaxed weekly cruising

This Fountaine Pajot Lipari 41 is particularly well suited to an itinerary like this because it supports the slower pleasures of a sailing holiday as much as the practical aspects of navigation. Its generous beam of 6.70 m creates excellent stability and noticeably spacious deck circulation, which matters greatly when guests are spending longer periods at anchor or enjoying leisurely meals on board. With 4 double cabins and 2 single cabins, the accommodation layout is highly useful for families and groups who want flexibility over sleeping arrangements, while the recommended 10-guest comfort level ensures a pleasant sense of space during a week-long charter.

The yacht’s 2 bathrooms with shower and sink, combined with a fully equipped kitchen including oven, fridge, and hot water, make liveaboard comfort easy to maintain throughout the week. The aft deck is well suited to al fresco dining, while the spacious solarium encourages long afternoons of sunbathing and relaxation between swims. Navigation and safety equipment such as autopilot, GPS plotter, VHF, wind instruments, solar panels, electric anchor windlass, battery charger, inverter, and dinghy all contribute to a capable and user-friendly cruising setup. Twin 30 hp Volvo engines provide dependable maneuvering support, especially when entering marinas or adjusting position in sheltered anchorages.

A Costa Brava Charter Designed for Enjoyment

This itinerary stands out because it understands that a successful sailing holiday is not measured only by the number of places visited, but by how well each place is experienced. By keeping distances sensible and destinations carefully chosen, the route gives guests time to enjoy the Costa Brava as it should be enjoyed - slowly, comfortably, and with enough freedom to let the best moments happen naturally. The combination of scenic anchorages, village charm, natural reserve beauty, and a spacious catamaran makes this a particularly attractive option for travelers who want a holiday that feels restorative as well as memorable. In a region filled with tempting sailing choices, this charter is especially strong for guests who prefer quality of experience over speed, and who want a week that feels genuinely relaxing from beginning to end.
