Tanım

A refined twelve-day private yacht charter from Tortola presents the Leeward Islands through a carefully paced combination of short passages, elegant marina visits, secluded bays and culturally distinctive destinations. Beginning in the British Virgin Islands gives guests immediate access to one of the Caribbean's most established charter regions, supported by modern marina services, secure berthing, efficient boarding procedures and convenient international connections.

This itinerary is especially well suited to guests who prefer frequent island stops and a balanced rhythm between cruising, shore exploration and relaxation. The route links Tortola with Jost Van Dyke, St John, St Martin, Anguilla, St Kitts and Nevis, Antigua and Barbuda, Guadeloupe, Dominica and St Barts before returning to the British Virgin Islands.

The charter welcomes up to eighteen guests in nine luxurious cabins aboard a 77-metre Amels yacht. A crew of twenty-five provides highly attentive service throughout the voyage, managing every element from navigation and anchoring to dining, housekeeping, wellness, entertainment and shore arrangements. The unusually generous crew-to-guest ratio allows individual preferences to be anticipated and handled with discretion.

About Our Leeward Islands Charter Experience

The Leeward Islands offer a particularly attractive blend of sheltered cruising, manageable distances and contrasting island identities. Guests can move from quiet beaches and protected national park waters to historic naval harbours, French coastal towns, exclusive restaurants and internationally recognised superyacht marinas.

Daily plans remain flexible so that the captain can adapt the route around weather, sea conditions, port availability and guest priorities. Additional time may be allocated to snorkelling, wellness, beach clubs, cultural tours, watersports or private dining. Customs and immigration procedures between territories are coordinated by the crew wherever possible to maintain a smooth experience.

Day 1 - Tortola and Jost Van Dyke

The voyage begins with a relaxed departure from Tortola followed by a short cruise toward Jost Van Dyke and surrounding anchorages. This easy first sector allows guests to become comfortable onboard while enjoying swimming, tender transfers and panoramic views of the British Virgin Islands. Calm bays and short island distances create an unhurried introduction, with lunch, afternoon refreshments and dinner arranged around the group's preferred pace.

Day 2 - St John, United States Virgin Islands

The yacht heads north toward St John, crossing clear channels under steady trade winds. Cruz Bay, Coral Bay or another sheltered location may be selected depending on conditions. Much of St John is protected, offering attractive beaches, walking trails and unspoiled coastal scenery. Guests can explore ashore, snorkel near the yacht or relax within the beach club before an elegant evening meal onboard.

Day 3 - St Martin and Sint Maarten

A longer eastward passage brings the yacht to the dual-nation island of St Martin and Sint Maarten. Simpson Bay and Marigot provide access to marina services, waterfront dining, boutiques and a lively international atmosphere. The French and Dutch sides offer contrasting experiences within one destination, allowing guests to combine sophisticated shore visits with relaxed time aboard the yacht.

Day 4 - Anguilla

A short cruise leads to Anguilla, renowned for exceptionally clear water, wide beaches and a quieter style of luxury. Road Bay, Shoal Bay or another suitable anchorage may be selected. Swimming, snorkelling, beach dining and tender exploration can fill the day, while guests who prefer privacy can remain onboard and enjoy the pool, spa, gym and expansive sun deck overlooking the island's pale shoreline.

Day 5 - St Kitts and Nevis

The yacht continues south across moderate open water toward St Kitts and Nevis. Basseterre, Charlestown and the surrounding coast introduce colonial architecture, volcanic scenery and an appealing mix of history and nature. Guests may tour historic sites, explore local communities or enjoy lunch ashore before returning to the yacht for sunset drinks and dinner within a protected marina or anchorage.

Day 6 - Antigua and Barbuda

Antigua provides one of the itinerary's major yachting highlights. English Harbour and Falmouth Harbour combine established marina infrastructure with the historic setting of Nelson's Dockyard. The day may include heritage visits, provisioning, coastal sightseeing and time in one of Antigua's numerous bays. The yacht's crew can organise a formal dinner onboard or reservations at a leading waterfront restaurant.

Day 7 - Guadeloupe

The journey moves into the French Caribbean with arrival near Deshaies, Pointe-à-Pitre or another appropriate coastal location. Guadeloupe offers rainforest trails, waterfalls, volcanic terrain and colourful villages alongside well-developed marina areas. Guests can choose between nature excursions, cultural exploration and leisure onboard. Stronger trade winds along the volcanic coastline add energy to the sailing experience without sacrificing the yacht's exceptional comfort.

Day 8 - Dominica

Dominica is one of the most naturally dramatic destinations on the route. Portsmouth and Roseau provide gateways to rainforest, hot springs, waterfalls, rivers and mountain landscapes. A guided shore programme can be arranged for guests interested in eco-tourism, while those remaining onboard can appreciate the scenery from the yacht's panoramic decks. Quiet anchorages and limited development create a strong sense of privacy and discovery.

Day 9 - Northbound Offshore Passage

The return journey begins with a longer navigation day toward St Martin. This sector gives guests time to experience the yacht as a private floating resort. Spa treatments, exercise sessions, cinema screenings, relaxed dining and time beside the pool can be enjoyed while the bridge team manages the offshore passage. The route is continuously assessed for weather and comfort.

Day 10 - Return to St Martin

Back in St Martin and Sint Maarten, guests can enjoy Simpson Bay's marina services, shopping, beach clubs and international dining. The stop offers an opportunity to refresh provisions and choose between an energetic shore visit or a quiet afternoon onboard. Sunset cocktails on the upper deck create a sophisticated transition from the longer sailing day to the final stages of the circuit.

Day 11 - St Barts and Anguilla

An optional detour to St Barts introduces one of the Caribbean's most exclusive island environments. Boutique shopping, refined restaurants and stylish coastal venues can be combined with snorkelling and beach visits. The yacht may then continue toward Anguilla or another protected northern anchorage. Short distances allow the day to remain flexible and centred on guest interests.

Day 12 - Return to Tortola

The final passage carries the yacht back through familiar Virgin Islands waters. Depending on the selected course, guests may pass Virgin Gorda and neighbouring cays before returning to Tortola. The closing day provides time for a final swim, farewell lunch and uninterrupted views across the island chain. Arrival in the BVI completes a diverse yet comfortably paced Leeward Islands circuit.

The yacht remains a private and consistent base while the scenery, culture and activities evolve each day.

The professional crew creates a service environment that is attentive without being intrusive. Menus can be adapted to individual preferences, shore experiences can be arranged privately and the daily rhythm can be adjusted around the group's energy and interests. For travellers seeking a sophisticated Caribbean circuit with beaches, history, marina culture and natural scenery, this twelve-day Leeward Islands experience offers an outstanding balance of variety and relaxation.
