Steam and passenger Ship
1966
Completamente operativo
Available for purchase is an impressive museum ship, blending the grace of steam-powered travel with a captivating history. Classified as Group I, Class H, and currently registered, this extraordinary vessel carries a deep-rooted legacy originating from its construction in 1966. Crafted from robust wood, its hull material contributes to its nostalgic and charming allure.
Measuring a total length of 30.50 meters and a length between perpendiculars of 27.00 meters, the ship has a commanding presence on the water. With a beam of 7.64 meters and a depth of 3.00 meters, it offers ample space and stability for comfortable voyages. The draft of 2.85 meters ensures efficient maneuverability, allowing access to various waterways.
Inside, the ship is thoughtfully designed to accommodate both passengers and crew. It can comfortably host 120 passengers during sailing trips and up to 140 while docked at port. For the convenience of all on board, there are four public toilets and five crew cabins. The kitchen is well-equipped with two electric refrigerators, a stove, and a microwave, ensuring that everyone is well-fed during their journey.
Passenger comfort is further enhanced by the presence of showers in three cabins and two more in the hold, along with two in the deck bathrooms. Hot water is readily available, adding a touch of luxury to the experience.
Powering this magnificent vessel is a triple expansion steam engine, boasting a Propulsion Power of 177 CV. Its average service speed is a respectable 7 knots, providing a leisurely pace for relaxed cruises. When conditions allow, the ship can reach a maximum speed of 9 knots under steam power and an impressive 11 knots when aided by sails.
With a Gross Registered Tonnage of 133.95 GRT and GT Gross Tonnage of 164.77, the ship is well-balanced and adeptly handles the open waters. Its fuel capacity of 10,000 liters and water capacity of 7,600 liters ensure long journeys can be undertaken without concern.
Safety is of paramount importance, and the vessel is well-equipped with essential navigation devices, including radar, VHF, and GPS. Additionally, it features hydraulic steering, two electric windlasses, two life rafts, a radio CD, TV, battery charger, probe, autopilot, and three bilge pumps.
The ship has been a beloved fixture in the Port of Vigo, where it has been open to the public and involved in engaging activities with schoolchildren and camps. While it is currently afloat, it requires some maintenance to return to full sailing capacity. With the help of Jacobo, an experienced machinist and shore carpenter, the next owner can restore the machine and boiler to their former glory.
As a historic passenger ship, it is subject to dry inspections every three years and annual afloat inspections. The benefit of its historical classification is that it is exempt from certain fees, with only charges for electricity and water from the Port Authority.
This steam and passenger museum ship presents a unique opportunity for those who appreciate maritime history and wish to continue its legacy. With its captivating presence and potential for unforgettable voyages, it awaits its next adventurous and caring owner to embark on a new chapter, sailing the seas and sharing its storied past with generations to come.
