Mangrove River Safari Experience Bentota-Sri lanka

Bentota River Safari is an excellent way to experience Sri Lanka's untamed environment. We will be sailing aboard a small boat with an awning for shade from the sun. Bentota is a peaceful river, with modest boat speeds and a completely safe journey.

Explore the hidden mangrove woods that protect the Bentota River's banks. Your river experience begins towards the end of the broad Bentota River, near the Bentota Bridge, and the Boatman will take you on a leisurely exploration of the mangroves, creepers, and a plethora of waterside trees and plants crowding the river's bank. Your boat will meander through the inlets formed by intertwined vine roots and lianas, and where the above canopy of rich green vegetation will give shade from the sun. Get lost in these dense growths and keep an eye out for the various water species that live in the undergrowth, such as herons, kingfishers, and cormorants.

While exploring the unique mangroves on the Bentota River Safari, you will leave with wonderful memories. The mangrove woodlands are home to many magnificent birds, including halcyons and a particularly uncommon type of white heron. You may snap a photo with a newborn crocodile on one of the islands. During this tour, you will witness monitor lizards, fruit bats, and perhaps a large crocodile. The trip takes around 2 hours. If visitors so choose, the boat may be moved to the point where the Bentota River falls into the open ocean (don't worry, it's perfectly safe and just for a brief period).
