The choice of meals rests with customers, except on vessels exceeding 20 meters, where a comprehensive service is available. In such cases, customers collaborate with the hostess to pre-arrange meals, taking into consideration dietary restrictions or allergies of any passengers. Typically, it's prudent to estimate the amount of bottled water and beverages required for the entire trip, particularly during hot summer months when staying hydrated is crucial (around 4-6 liters of water per person per day).
A recommended practice is to compile a list of essential food items, including pasta, rice, canned meats and vegetables, peeled tomatoes, savory snacks, breadsticks, crackers, biscuits, and fruits. In most cases, it's advisable to procure fresh foods like fish, bread, and fruits during the vacation, thereby exploring the local delicacies of the destinations visited.
